I absolutely love the name Reuben but my friends little boy has this name :( Is there anything similar anyone can think of? I quite like Arlo but i'm hearing it a lot now too. I find out what I'm having in a few weeks and if its a boy i'm totally stumped! I already have a little girl, i have so many girls names to use but not one for a boy!

I was going to suggest Ptolemy but got beaten to it. If you want unique then something classical is always a good bet - perhaps
Xenophon,
Appuleius
Thucydides
Elagabalus
Flaccus

@Aprillygirl what's wrong with Dipsy or LaLa?

Wow this is my first time posting and i have to say being called pathetic because I'm asking for similar names to Reuben is absolutely bizarre. By unique i just meant not over used, or any names people liked but didn't use. I've always found this site so helpful when i had a question to see that other mothers had the same question. Its sad this is the way other women/people would talk to a pregnant woman. Give yourselves a nice pat on the back you horrible few.

You'd be better off on the baby name board OP.
Rufus is the only thing I can come up with. Good luck.

Damntheman · 21/08/2019 14:12

I like Rufus as well :) or Rory. Micah someone suggested earlier is also a lovely name!

Aprillygirl · 21/08/2019 14:12

@Aprillygirl what's wrong with Dipsy or LaLa?

Don't be silly, they're girls names!

"Rupert" is similar to Rueben and despite being a respectable boys name has never been in the top 100. It is currently ranked 127 with 456 boys getting it in 2017.

Sorry, below is the actual link for lists of names.
