I absolutely love the name Reuben but my friends little boy has this name :( Is there anything similar anyone can think of? I quite like Arlo but i'm hearing it a lot now too. I find out what I'm having in a few weeks and if its a boy i'm totally stumped! I already have a little girl, i have so many girls names to use but not one for a boy!

Reuben and Arlo are extremely popular names and not unique in the slightest. Try checking out Dark Greener names.

I like Ranulph too, like the explorer.

And Ralph, as long as you pronounce it the posh way.

FlyingElbows · 22/08/2019 17:05

I'm very much looking forward to the Swazifrottages turning up in primary school 😂

TrickyD · 22/08/2019 17:24

My boys names are Flynn, Mattias , Ellis, Ellias, Caius, Cassius, Borromir and Atticus
At least three of those are spelled wrong. And Caius is pronounced Keys.

Are you actually suggesting naming a child after a very run down Welsh seaside side town Rhyl????????? Hmm

EugenesAxe · 22/08/2019 23:21

Wasn’t Actaeon changed into a deer and ripped apart by Artemis’ hounds, for accidentally seeing her bathing?

Wouldn’t endear the name to me much Confused

megletthesecond · 22/08/2019 23:24

Aldrin. Old English name and sounds space-y.

malificent7 · 22/08/2019 23:53

I like; Idris, Kaleb, Rex, Hector, Douglas, Calum and Zachary.

malificent7 · 22/08/2019 23:54

Like Kit and Ezra too.

BizzzzyBee · 23/08/2019 00:57

Most of the ones I can think of are just unusual nicknames. An easy to spell name with an unusual nickname is the best of both worlds?

Joseph - Jos, Josey or Seph
Jonathan - Jonty
Jeremy - Jem
Lawrence - Ren

Looking at that list, I very much doubt it's a suggestion meant to be taken literally. Requiem? Rhyme? Rave? And worst of all Rimmer. Imagine going through life with the nickname Smeghead!

TrickyD · 24/08/2019 09:55

Rudolf would be great were it not for that bloody reindeer.

blubbabubba · 24/08/2019 10:14

Really not understanding the hate for uncommon names - all these stay mums who named their children Oliver and Olivia.
