I can see public support for it to be abolished once the Queens gone. I feel like they’ve had too many chances at this point. The cover up of Andrews vile friendship with the sexual predator Epstein and the awful things Andrew probably did plus the pictures with teenagers has been an outrage. I also really like Harry and Meghan but their hypocrisy is quite embarrassing how they’re banging on about climate change and then jetting off across the globe on private jets. And more and more for all royals.

Kate can reap a lot of positive PR with low-hanging fruit like recycling outfits and flying commercial. Kind of annoying really as W&K are a bunch of overspending, overprivileged pratts (and normally are not very charismatic either like Harry used to be)

I thought similar, throw Megan under the bus to keep attention away from “randy Andy”. Who knows though. Not to keen on any of the Charles or Wills generation.

I’m not sure where this meme of “Randy Andy is getting totally ignored” is coming from. Surely I’m not the only one who’s seen incriminating photos published in the papers plus flight logs details!

@BertrandRussell I think the “ don’t like her, can’t put her finger on why” with Meghan stems from the way she looks like she’s acting. She has a really fake, sycophantic expression and she tries to emulate Diana’s empathy face. Badly. She’s a narcissist. Initially I think the general public felt a bit protective of Harry after what happened to his mother and it seemed as though he is being used. Now however after acting like such a muppet and falling for her bullshit he can, quite frankly reap what he sows. Her smile looks phony her poses are so staged ( see engagement pic in white coat she looks like a page 3 model) There’s a mistrust of the integrity of her intentions. I just don’t believe she is in this for the right reasons. It’s literally zero to do with her colour. When I first saw that picture of her and Harry announcing engagement it didn’t know anything about her and I had no idea of her heritage. As soon as I saw her I had a visceral reaction to her. Her race definitely didn’t ( nor would it ever) sway my view of her.

Andy may not be too comfortable sipping martinis but I bet he's mightily relieved that H & M took a private jet. The story should just be about him. Not being diluted by general 'The Royal Family are being dishonoured by these few bad apples,. How Prince Phillip has the balls to dislike Fergie when his son behaves so appallingly I don't know. I don't know @Pamplemousecat, I'm not sure the women at Grenfell kitchen, Smart Works or the Mayhew would've greeted her so warmly if she was as fake as you (who presumably have never met her) think she is.

I've actually encountered Harry in person once, through his HIV charity work, and was expecting him to be a bit of a dimwitted Hooray Henry. I was pleasantly surprised to find him both knowledgeable about the issue and genuinely engaged with it too.

This!! Their joint interview at the engagement was so fake and seemed like this she acting. She comes across not genuine. It has zero to do with race. MM must thank her lucky stars she’s mixed raced as all criticism can be blamed on that.

Are you a close associate? How do you diagnose narcissism? From the glimpses I have seen of her on the telly she looks warm and friendly and smily. Just like she should be- thet’s her job. And maybe if she isn't feeling warm and friendly and smily at the right moment, being an actor helps.

@Bertrand - I should have caveated to be fair that this is my opinion and reaction. 😂 @ MI5 comment! I’d love to work for them but not sure psychic ability is something they recruit on the basis of? However re my opinion on Markle, I’m definitely in good company on that score. I’ve heard lots of people from different backgrounds say she “ grates” or “ she’s false”. She may just have one of those faces. ( don’t get me wrong she’s pretty) but to me she’s kind of sickly. My main point being that it’s fuck all to do with her heritage.

I don't know where this diagnosis of narcissism comes from. But it's very prevalent on MN.

In a previous life I could have have made the diagnosis and have been believed.

MM seems no more narcissistic (in a clinical way) than any other actor or person in the media spotlight.

I have read the Vogue editorial and it did make me come over all queasy.

And - just to weigh up my feelings about the modern duchesses and to check I'm not racist - I didn't feel all that well after seeing photos of the DofC swinging on a tyre to advertise her garden at the Chelsea Flower Show either.
