What did you think you would call your kids

I couldn't sleep last night and for some reason I thought back to the names I decided I would call my kids when I was younger so my son would have been called Jordan Tyler Blush
My daughter was going to be called Tara, don't know why it just seemed the height of sophistication at the time 😂
3 children on and not one of those names has been used!! Was just wondering what names you thought you would use and did you actually call your children these names?

Amanda and Michelle. I had 3 boys. 😁

Ludoole · 18/08/2019 19:13

Conor (after my nan masculine version of her name) and Elliot. I used one , had 2 boys.

GizzardChops · 18/08/2019 19:16

Joshua or William for boys. Ariel for a girl (I was Little Mermaid obssessed!).

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 18/08/2019 19:18

Oh my god all my dolls names were ariel, I was also obsessed with little mermaid!!!! 😂 😂

If my PFB had been a girl he would have been Alayna Marie. Now I look back I'm quite glad he was a boy Grin
My three younger sons were all going to be David originally but none of them are.

Bunnylady53 · 18/08/2019 19:21

We adopted DD so had to keep her name but I always wanted Emily Rose for a girl. I never thought much about boys names but I like Danny (cos of a major crush!) & Joel

MingeOnFire · 18/08/2019 19:23

Joshua for a boy
Chloe Abigail and Rebecca for girls

Had a girl and 2 boys and didn't use any, although the eldest would've been Joshua if she'd been a boy

PamelaTodd · 18/08/2019 19:24

Sadhb and Tadgh Smile Dh over rule Gaelic silent d’s and names that have to be spelled every time.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 18/08/2019 19:25

Mine was hard. After working with children for over 25 years so many had a bad memory Confused

I looked after a little boy in one of my first ever nursery classrooms. He was such a gorgeous boy. Had white blonde hair and blue eyes.

My son was identical to him when he was born so I called him the same name. Never had another boys name I liked. Never could come up with a girls name. So good that I only one one child.

Lillyhatesjaz · 18/08/2019 19:25

Ziantha, DD had a lucky escape

TequilaMockingbird0 · 18/08/2019 19:26

Chloe, Phoebe, James.

None of my kids have names even close to them- way, way too popular/boring. Can't think of a more dull name than James now but I loved it as a kid!

Pascha · 18/08/2019 19:26

I had loads for girls. Leonie, Cecilie, Marguerite, Bridget, Anastasia Hmm. Thank god I had boys 😂😂😂

treenu · 18/08/2019 19:26

Neve and Jack when I was younger.

Completely different names now! Still like them both but they wouldn't suit our two at all.

Zaphodsotherhead · 18/08/2019 19:26

For some reason, as a teenager, I had the idea that I'd name my son Saffric Curran. I must have heard it somewhere and it made an impression on me. Also Gethyn.

My sons are called Tom and Will...

Soubriquet · 18/08/2019 19:27

I wanted Samuel for a boy and Ruby for a girl

Neither of my children are called this

isseywithcats · 18/08/2019 19:27

No 1 Michelle if he had been a girl
No 2 was always going to be the name i picked for her, if she had been a boy she would have been liam
no 3 Abigail if he had been a girl, didnt know what i was having each time as scans were not the norm in the 70s and 80s

SnuggyBuggy · 18/08/2019 19:27

I won't say the name but in combination with my married surname it's the same name as a famous serial killer so it was straight off the list.

MeMeMeYou · 18/08/2019 19:29

I loved the names Celeste, Gazelle and Tabitha (Tabby) when I was a teenager! Thank goodness some decades passed before I had kids so I didn’t use these. I almost used Isla and Ted and am glad I didn’t as both are now v popular.

MeMeMeYou · 18/08/2019 19:30

Back in my teens I also liked Jay like the bird, without realising it’s usually short for Jason (or nowadays Jayden !,)

LoonyLunaLoo · 18/08/2019 19:31

Harry and I would have done too but dh already had an older son called Harry 😢. I’m still gutted really as my grandad was called Harry and I’m a huge Harry Potter fan.

PositiveVibez · 18/08/2019 19:31

Jacinta for some reason. I heard it on a TV prog once and thought it sounded amazing.

There used to be. Girl who I played with when we were little and her name was Rory. Her real name was Aurora and I was just gobsmacked by how exotic it was because we all had run of the mill boring names.

When I was pg, I wanted Rory for a boy, but dh vetoed it.

We had a dd anyway and none of the above were used 😂

Cryalot2 · 18/08/2019 19:32

All my life I maintained that if I ever had a son he wpuld be called David Lawrence ( after old Mr Lawrence in little women)
Liked William James and vered towards Daisy, Poppy , Willow and Summer for a girl. Ds is called David Lawrence and his fathers name .I didn't have a second son , but dh did not go with my choice for dd and chose her name. She likes it as does son .
I called the dog one of the names i had have chosen for dd.

Northernsoullover · 18/08/2019 19:32

I didn't plan on any names when I was young but during pregnancy I was going to call my eldest Finley. I'm quite glad I didn't because everyone I've ever met through working in a school and running cubs has been a bit 'spirited'.

Bumbags · 18/08/2019 19:33

Graham and Chelsea

I thought Chelsea was terribly sophisticated.

Always loved Graham 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

2 boys with 3 names each and not a Graham among them!!

Countrylifeornot · 18/08/2019 19:33

Sadie, Isabelle and Grace. I must have been a forward thinker as practically half of the little girls I know are now called a version of these names.
