What did you think you would call your kids

I couldn't sleep last night and for some reason I thought back to the names I decided I would call my kids when I was younger so my son would have been called Jordan Tyler Blush
My daughter was going to be called Tara, don't know why it just seemed the height of sophistication at the time 😂
3 children on and not one of those names has been used!! Was just wondering what names you thought you would use and did you actually call your children these names?

Megan Rose and Dylan James were my names when I was younger. I now have a Luisa Clara and a Benedict Theodore.

BoswellsBollocks · 18/08/2019 19:38

Alana after the Girl from Tomorrow.

Or Scarlet or Yasmin which I thought were really exotic.

From the age of 17 I wanted a particular name for any boy I had. I now have one who’s 18!

Rainbowknickers · 18/08/2019 19:39

Jade/jayde
Amber
Christopher
Joey
Daisy

Didn’t call any of mine any of those!

Mightywease · 18/08/2019 19:45

Grace or Eleanor for a girl, Jacob or Joshua for a boy.

We ended up adopting and his name is none of those. And the middle names we did add aren't those either!!

I thought Carly was the most beautiful and sophisticated name I’d ever heard, I first heard it on Home and Away! Did not end up calling DD Carly, my 10 year old self would be very disappointed!

HarrietSchulenberg · 18/08/2019 19:47

When I was a teenager I planned to call my daughter Molly.

When I actually had children they were going to be Lily, Ella and either Alice or Ruby.

They are all boys.

RuthW · 18/08/2019 19:50

When I was a child, Alexander and Alexandra

Then Keely, Kylie and Kelly

Then. When I was first married, Bradley and Elizabeth

22 years ago I finally had a dd called Florence.

Thank god I didn't use Bradley as with my surname it's similar to a famous person.

I loved Tammy for a girl! (Tammy girl teenager shop, showing my age!)
I did have a girl but called her Holly and can't imagine her being anything else - she suits her name - beautiful to look at but prickly too (teenager!)

x2boys · 18/08/2019 19:53

I always imagined I would have three girls ,they were going to Meghan, Hannah, and Elizabeth, I had two boys Hmm

Crochetymum · 18/08/2019 19:56

My favourite name was always Shannon, I didn't use it tho. Then I saw a film when I was about 8 and the girls were called Patience, Constance, Cadence I think and some similar to that. I wish I remembered the film now, those names seem kind of try-hard now. Although Connie I still think is lovely, also Bonnie. For boys I wanted to use my favourite uncles names but I didn't do that either!

PatchworkElmer · 18/08/2019 19:58

Erin and James. Used neither, but still like both a lot.

Verily1 · 18/08/2019 19:58

Crystal!!

Thankfully I didn’t have dcs in the 80s!

lyralalala · 18/08/2019 19:59

I always wanted to call a boy a certain name. Had two girls first and that would have been their name if they were a boy. It would have worked with their Dad's surname (it didn't really work with mine)

Then met DH. Had DS. Realised midway through my pregnancy that the name was out because it would be ridiculous. Think Jack Russell/Harley Davidson type combo. When I was in labour and high on gas and air I actually told the midwife on DH for having the "wrong" surname Grin

JacquesHammer · 18/08/2019 20:04

I picked DD’s name when I was 9. Fortunately my then husband agreed Grin

JacquesHammer · 18/08/2019 20:04

Then when she was born obviously, not then when I was 9 Grin

NavyBlueHue · 18/08/2019 20:10

I called my cabbage patch kid Madeline Carolina. Always to be used with both names but never hyphenated Grin DD got off lightly.

sonicshoegazes · 18/08/2019 20:12

I always wanted Helena Grace & Callum Thomas. I have 2 boys and one girl...I used the Callum Thomas for my first born.

RobertSmithdoesmyhair · 18/08/2019 20:16

Sandy and Danny, after the girl and boy in 'Grease'! GrinGrin

LL83 · 18/08/2019 20:17

Tabitha Hmm didn't call my dd that thankfully. Loved the name as a child though!

RobertSmithdoesmyhair · 18/08/2019 20:17

Didn't use either! Grin

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 18/08/2019 20:18

Amanda and Susannah. I was a child of the 70s lol.

Curlyshabtree · 18/08/2019 20:25

Zarozinnia 😂😂

Isitweekendyet · 18/08/2019 20:28

I was going to call my kids Ryan and Marissa after the OC, I even planned on emigrating to California in the hope I could live vicariously through my aptly named children.

I also thought Kyle was the height of sophistication.

MondeoFan · 18/08/2019 20:29

Girls Saffron, Jade, Sapphire those type of names
Boys Harley, Levi or Kurt

Ended up with 2 old lady names

Fibbib · 18/08/2019 20:29

I always wanted to call my children David and Sally! Luckily I grew out of this.
Always wanted to change my name to Karen when I was a child too.
