What did you think you would call your kids

I couldn't sleep last night and for some reason I thought back to the names I decided I would call my kids when I was younger so my son would have been called Jordan Tyler Blush
My daughter was going to be called Tara, don't know why it just seemed the height of sophistication at the time 😂
3 children on and not one of those names has been used!! Was just wondering what names you thought you would use and did you actually call your children these names?

When I was a kid in the 80's my future children were Monica and Veronica Confused

In the 90's as a teen my taste updated to Danni and Cally-Louise Confused

Fortunately by the 00's when I started my family my tastes had updated once again Grin

For some reason I never had any imaginary boy babies, I did have real ones though Smile

wonderingsoul · 24/08/2019 14:06

Girls- Robin, imogen, James, beau

I still love beau for a boy or girl

Love Anastasia and tabitha

Apolloanddaphne · 24/08/2019 18:04

Craig, Cameron or Jack. I changed my mind on boys names with each pregnancy.

I had three girls!

Aged 16 my future children's names were going to be Patrick (shortened to Paddy) and Madison. Which thinking about it is a slightly weird name combination! My actual dcs names are both very traditional, fairly long names.

I also have a traditional, long first name and I've always hated it, so god only knows why I've put my kids through the same misery! As a teenager I made everyone call me Danni, which isn't even a little bit like my actual name.

Naomi

Used none of them

Wanted to call DD Meadow. The name got ruined for me after DM said "Meadow? Isn't that like... a field???" 😂

As a teenager in the nineties, my imaginary daughter was named Paige-Amanda. Thank God I saw sense by the time I had babies. I had two boys anyway, but still wonder wtf I was thinking.

highheelsandbobblehats · 24/08/2019 18:46

@Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav Ha! We obviously had a similar mindset.

BertsFriend · 24/08/2019 18:47

When I was about 10 I loved the name 'Zuella', from Dallas. I thought it was such a lovely name and was definitely the name I was going to call my first dd. Sometime before having dd I realised it was Sue Ellen in a Texan accent, not Zuella, which wasn't quite as different and lovely so I didn't use it.

highheelsandbobblehats · 24/08/2019 18:47

Also, I decided aged 4 that my son was going to be named Steven. I didn't move from this at all. And then I married a Steven. We didn't want to do the whole junior thing, so had to come up with something else. Didn't even get to use it as a middle name.

Poppins2016 · 24/08/2019 18:48

When I was a young teenager I thought I'd name a DD Lily. It wasn't on my girls list when I finally had a baby, just not my cup of tea anymore (although a pretty name).

MyLittlePetitPois · 24/08/2019 19:17

I loved the show Blossom when I was younger and wanted to call my future daughter Six after Blossoms best friend.

I wanted twin girls and planned on calling them Rebecca and Vanessa

Later I just wanted 1 girl and she was to be called Sophie

My boy was to be called Gavin

Fast forward 15- 20 years and none of the above even made the shortlist!

CatteStreet · 24/08/2019 19:37

I never chose a boy's name, but my daughters were going to be Lucinda or Melody.
