What did you think you would call your kids

I couldn't sleep last night and for some reason I thought back to the names I decided I would call my kids when I was younger so my son would have been called Jordan Tyler Blush
My daughter was going to be called Tara, don't know why it just seemed the height of sophistication at the time 😂
3 children on and not one of those names has been used!! Was just wondering what names you thought you would use and did you actually call your children these names?

When I was a teenager I planned to call my future daughter Tiffany Willow. I thought it sounded so posh 😁. It was still my favourite name for the next ten years, but I changed my mind when Tiffany (Martine McCutcheon) joined EastEnders as it suddenly didn't sound posh anymore 😁 I decided on Willow Sapphire instead.

My DD is Poppy Amelia 😁

I just remembered I used to love the name Justine after a character in Grange Hill, I thought she was so cool and therefore any girl with that name must be too... Haven't met any yet!! 😂 😂

An old boyfriend and I thought we'd be really 'out there and cool' and call our future kid 'Jazz'! When I got a bit older and a bit less 'cool', my now husband and I settled on William and Jack for boys, and a beautiful girls name I still love.

We now have 2 DS and haven't used 'Jazz', William or Jack!! If I ever have a girl though, I'm holding out for the name I still love!!

FunnyReally · 19/08/2019 08:50

Savannah for a girl 🙈

Always been Harrison for a boy and I still plan on using it one day (if the opportunity presents itself!).

Nautiloid · 19/08/2019 08:52

Olivia and Alexander. Or Aurora.

Asta19 · 19/08/2019 08:53

All through my pregnancy I was adamant I was going to call my DD January (this was 30 years ago before January Jones was famous!). Everyone hated it but I loved it and I’m stubborn! She was due to be born at the beginning of March but instead came 6 weeks early so was born at the end of January! That ruined it for me! I couldn’t name her after the month she was born in. So she was called something else, equally unusual though.

x2boys · 19/08/2019 09:15

I know someone who wanted to call a daughter Erin after Erin in the Waltons, she did in fact go on to have a girl she called Erin.

jesuschristwtf · 19/08/2019 09:16

Something Greek and both my children have Greek middle names.

Zaphodsotherhead · 19/08/2019 09:20

TooStressy - they won't necessarily hate their names! My three daughters have unusual names, they're in their twenties now and really like having 'different' names and always have done.

LilouBlue · 19/08/2019 09:28

Oh I had loads of potentials as a kid. Taylor, Austin, and Zack I remember for boys. And for a girl, Zoey Rhianna! I still like Zoey but Rhianna?!

rubberduckyyouretheone · 19/08/2019 09:34

Aimee for a girl Luke or Christopher for a boy.

Never had a daughter and due to my surname Luke was out. Hated Christopher at that point as I'd met a truly horrific one and he forever tarnished the name.

scazlackabumdiyay · 19/08/2019 09:35

Scott and Tina!

QueenofmyPrinces · 19/08/2019 09:38

I was pregnant 5 years ago with my first and we were set on Zoe but ‘she’ turned out to be a boy.

When I was pregnant with my second, 3 years ago, I had wanted a Diana but ‘she’ turned out to be a boy too.

My husband chose both our boys names. I wasn’t particularly too keen on what he chose for our first son but it grew on me and thankfully I love it now 😂

username1724 · 19/08/2019 10:13

Chanelle, Fleur, Sofia, Honey, Alexia, Maya, Thea, Octavia

Were my girls names but dd has ended up with a top 10 name (fortunately for her). Boys names I always struggled with but used to love Tyler! Ds has a name that couldnt be further in style 🤣

JustDanceAddict · 19/08/2019 10:15

We called DS a name we’d decided on when we first got together.
If he’d been a girl his name would’ve been one of my dolls as a child(!) I’d always loved the name but it's very popular now.
DD’s name was not thought of previously in that way.

0pheIiaBaIIs · 19/08/2019 10:34

Very happy with the name I chose for DD. It's unusual but classic and if I had her again now I'd still have chosen it.

If I'd have had a son I would have called him Raphael. Possibly just as well for my hypothetical son that I remain son-less Grin

IceAndASlice123 · 19/08/2019 13:05

Boys would have been Alfie or Arthur. Girls gone through stages of liking Lily but it became too popular and now it would be Ella or Mia. Had the same favourites for years but not likely to have kids of my own.

whattodowith · 19/08/2019 13:21

I liked horrendous names when I was a child such as Kai (heard it on Power Rangers- my younger brother was a huge fan!), Kian (after the guy in Westlife), Kohl at one point Hmm.

My DC are certainly not named any of the above, not remotely close.

ElizaPancakes · 19/08/2019 13:29

This is an interesting question and I can’t remember any of the names I wanted Confused.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 19/08/2019 15:48

So glad I'm not the only one to have had a few dubious name ideas!!! 😂 😂 😂 I love hearing these!!!

Kylie after kylie minogue or Tiffany who sang I think we're alone now, there doesn't seem to be anyone around. 🎶 🎼
Sèan for a boy.
Thank god I grew out of the girl names before baby making.

x2boys · 19/08/2019 17:00

I wonder how many 30 ish Scott and Charlene,s /Kylie,s there are!

x2boys · 19/08/2019 17:03

do know quite a few people my age ( 40,s) who had boys called I wonder if they were fans of Corey Haim,Corey Feldman .

x2boys · 19/08/2019 17:05

Boys called Corey*

icecreamsanddreams · 19/08/2019 17:09

There was always going to be a girl called Katy with a sister called Faith. I have two boys and they're not called Oliver or Sam, as DH vetoed both of those.
