AIBU to be annoyed with dh?

He has taken dc to captain candy in Dubrovnik Croatia which is essentially a pick n mix place. He bought three bags of sweets and it came to £99.

The price is unclear and it is a tourist trap.

If anyone goes to captain candy please avoid.

I can't believe it still.

Ridiculous!

Gone are the days of a penny chew!
Or a half penny sweet

WishUponAStar88 · 16/08/2019 21:43

Also here for the photo Grin I hadn’t been to the cinema in years. Took the kids recently and that was bad enough at about £20 for 4 (modest) bags of pick n mix.

Greensleeves · 16/08/2019 21:44

Also here for the photo!

Heratnumber7 · 16/08/2019 21:44

Try the M&M shop in Leicester Square for a similar rip off experience 😦

Uberbeeboo · 16/08/2019 21:45

Mmmmmm... show me the sweets 😬🍬

Michaelbaubles · 16/08/2019 21:47

I saw a review online saying it’s €3/100g which is expensive but even so that’s 3kg of sweets!

VenusTiger · 16/08/2019 21:47

You sure they’re not alcoholic sweets? Shock

Violashift · 16/08/2019 21:48

They are large bags but £99 , £40 maybe could have coped. Just!

They had better be massive bags that will last a year!

HeadintheiClouds · 16/08/2019 21:49

Why not post a photo of the sweets instead of the credit card bill? He could have gotten anything for that

highheelsandbobblehats · 16/08/2019 21:49

What the actual?! And why did he pay?

CedarTreeLeaf · 16/08/2019 21:49

Was it all covered in gold leaf?

UnholyStramash · 16/08/2019 21:49

I do so miss Woollies. Just saying. Smile

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2019 21:49

Ooft. That’s crazy!

VenusTiger · 16/08/2019 21:50

Well then, expect a massive dentist bill next year Grin

Stravapalava · 16/08/2019 21:50

What, are you sure they've calculated the exchange rate correctly? That's a lot! I filled a bag at the cinema (with the heavy ones - fudge etc) for less than £20!

BustedDreams · 16/08/2019 21:51

Grin look what’s popping up on my side bar!

£99 on sweets
mrsglowglow · 16/08/2019 21:52

crikey! thought I got ripped off at vue but at least we saw a film!

TheCanyon · 16/08/2019 21:52

We went to candyland in dubai, all 4 dc had 200 odd dirhams each to spend, I think bout £50. Made me feel sickcause the sweets were shite but was aunts treat and they sensibly bought big teddies and treats for friends etc to bump their price up.

Saying that, I'd damn right buy 99 packs of bounties multipacks if I could afford it.

Wisheverydaywasfriday · 16/08/2019 21:52

I remember going into that shop last year, everything is so beautifully displayed, but crikey that’s an unbelievable price Shock .

WhenWillItBeCold · 16/08/2019 21:53

What sweets are we talking about ? Just like normal pick n mix ?

Relationshipsajoke · 16/08/2019 21:53

Me and dp bought pick n mix in some random shop in Benidorm old town...that came to about £25/30 and we were reeling...worst thing was in my brain the whole time I knew I didn’t even really want them!!!

We also went to m&m world recently (not the first time) why? Who knows? They all eat m&ms that we buy in normal shops ALLLLL the time. Dp is inpatient so just gave each of them (3 of them!!) a large cup to fill which came to £40. He knew the price when he picked them up, he still picked them up, one kid decided to fill it with crispy m&ms....which weren’t even in a novelty colour, they were just normal mix. I spent about 48hours just repeatedly saying “do you realise how many m&ms you’d have had if we’d just gone to Tesco and bought normal bags?” 😩 why do we do it? And what even is the fascination with m&ms? What’s the relevance? Why do we have a 3/4 story building full of this shit?

PivotPivotPivottt · 16/08/2019 21:54
Shock

And I've been kicking myself all day for buying a £2.50 pick and mix but only filling the cup with 4 jelly snakes and nothing else.
