£99 on sweets

AIBU to be annoyed with dh?

He has taken dc to captain candy in Dubrovnik Croatia which is essentially a pick n mix place. He bought three bags of sweets and it came to £99.

The price is unclear and it is a tourist trap.

If anyone goes to captain candy please avoid.

I can't believe it still.

Ridiculous!

3 large boxes of handmade belgian chocolates maybe - but cola bottles and fluorescent green things - no thanks

Don't know if anyone else has said, but I bet they don't consider the weight of the bag. They are lined with foil and look like thick paper! That'll be a few quids worth at those prices before you have started filling them with sweets!!!. What a rip off.

Dh said he just panicked and paid. The dc stood their all excited. He said he just wanted to get out of there. I would have done the same.

I am surprised the shop was so busy. The sweets taste cheap.

Yes, I've heard that their sweets are really bad.

Probably because they've been sitting out for weeks because people won't pay those prices (unless conned into it).

What a rip off!

They look no better than what you could get at your local supermarket - possibly worse!

Jesus cripes my bleedin phone Is in a bloody time warp.... Answered what I thought was a current chat only have it pointed out that its 2 yrs old....... Give me strength and a new phone and the strength to apologise to top blogger..... Top blogger I apologise for my tardy behaviour

I'm still incandescent that we got stiffed at the pick and mix giant fudge stall in York Christmas market in 2017 and spent £65!! on overly sugary fudge that tasted on nothing!
AND that time they saw us coming at the pick and mix giant olive stall in Hebden Bridge at that fair in 2015. We spent £42 and I still silently rage about that on sleepless nights and I LOVE olives! Confused😩
My Great-Aunt always did say a fool and their money are easily parted!
In my case she was right! 🙄

Sweet mother of god and I still rant because we spent seven euro on the smallest box of popcorn and €3.75 on a small bottle of fanta at Disneyland Paris. (DO NOT BUY FOOD OR DRINK THERE!!!) OP, it'll be one of those family legends and you'll hopefully laugh about it somedayBrew

Fuck! I wouldn't let them eat them - turn them into a piece of art that can be framed for that price!

On a side note, my brother and I were flying home from Jamaica alone, I was 16 he was 19. I went to buy a chocolate bar in the airport, in fact I bought 2. Holding the equivalent of 50 english pounds in my hand.
The lady got her calculator out and - wow - it was the exact amount of money I was holding.

As I sat down next to brother I said, I think I've just paid 50 quid for 2 mars bars! He called me a twat. I was.
