To ask how much you pay in rent each month?

Just out of simple curiosity really, and to see how our rent compares with other parts of the country.

I’ll go first. We pay £700 a month for a privately rented three bedroom flat in East Anglia. That’s actually relatively cheap for a three bed (most go for around £800/£900 here) but that’s probably because the third bedroom is tiny.

Your rent is quite reasonable, op. Good for you. Norfolk is lovely too.

I don't pay rent, I'm old and my house is paid for :-), but my son rents a tiny house for just over £12,000 per month, Greater London (a London borough). It suits him well at the moment as he is on his own but that may change and he intends to buy a house, or at least set the ball rolling, by the end of this year. He'll probably have to move out a bit further though.

£474.00. 3 bed terraced house in one of the nicer parts of the Midlands.

I am HA though. The same house on private rent is nearer £700-£795.

You do realise that you can go to Rightmove and see what flats cost to rent?

£450 per month. (Should be £550)

£700pcm 3 bed 3 storey house in Harrogate

£340 pcm for a large 3 bed flat (one of a block of four so feels more like a semi detached bungalow) in a small Scottish village.

£150 includes council tax Bills for a 2bed house in Wiltshire area. British army housing.

525 for a small 2 bed terraced with drive

£950. For an average to small three bed bungalow in Cornwall.

Equivalent of 2,200 a month for a 3 bedroom house, plus playroom and maids room. It’s a gated community with a gorgeous park and huge swimming pool. In the Middle East.

Left the UK in 2016 and was paying 400 a month for a room in a shared house on the south coast after I sold my house whilst I waited for my immigration paperwork to be done. I didn’t even have my own bathroom.

Housing association in the NW. 3 bedroom semi newish build with a huge garden. £400
a month.

Our last flat was £625 for a 3 bed upper villa in East Lothian. We managed to buy last year and our combined mortgage, council tax and insurances is only £20 more a month

I'm in a house split into 2 flats. Downstairs neighbour pay £800/mth but my mortgage is half that. Essex.

I paid £525 for a two bed modern terrace in a popular area of Nottingham. Could have got £650-700 but landlady wanted to keep
Me sweet. I bought it last week for slightly under market value.

£1850 for a 2 bed flat with 2 bathrooms and a large balcony in east London (zone 2). It's a good deal as it overlooks the canal and was brand new when we moved in.

£550 for a 3 bed terraced new build in West Yorkshire

Our tenant pays £1150 for a 2 bed flat in Bristol.

used to pay £1400 for a 3 bedroom terrace (3rd bedroom is tiny) in the SE (just outside m25)

Don't rent any more but the equivalent of my house next door rents for £750 pcm. 3 bed, 3 storey house in East Mids.

£650 per month for a 2 bedroom flat in Cornwall

Christ I don’t even want to say- £1771 pcm for a 2bed in NE London, newly decorated, unfurnished, no bills inc. We first moved in 5yrs ago when rent was around £1350, it’s increased massively over the years. We are close to a station (which we don’t use as we work from home!) and lots of good schools...

£500 pcm East Midlands, 2 bed terraced house close to city centre, with a smallish walled garden and off road parking. But we know our landlady very well and have been here over 10 years. We should probably be paying a bit more as we had a new kitchen, bathroom and windows installed for us a few years ago. Average price round here for the same property in varying condition is between £500-£700.

Chocolate daim that’s 81, 000 you have handed over to your landlord , just why ???? Surely the sensible option would be rent a little cheaper and get on the property ladder
I’m flabbergasted that anybody would pay that much out in rent it’s crazy .
