Would you find it awkward - bride singing to groom at wedding

I'm not sure whether to do this at my upcoming wedding or not.

Not in any way a stealth brag but I think relevant... I can sing (well I think!) and did vocal studies at university.

The problem is I have quite bad anxiety and get nervous over what people think! I never had the confidence to take it anywhere.

Be honest, what would think to this?

please please come back OP @ShutUpandSing and tell us the song!!

But don't be swayed by anyone who thinks it is a good/cute/loving idea, it is not.

I think you should do it and afterwards you'll be really glad you did. If you can't be gushy and emotional on your wedding day when can you?

I attended a wedding last year where the groom played a song on his guitar (and sang) that he's spent months practicing. He wasn't very good to tell the truth as he was fairly new to learning the guitar. I started off thinking this is so cringeworthy and awkward as all the guests and the bride where gathered around just listening to him but as it went on I thought how sweet it was and something I would never be brave enough to do. Honestly I think I was the only guest that felt at all cringy about it (I was the only Brit present, everyone else was American including the wedding couple).

If PP's have posted that this would cringeworthy, I think it says more about us Brits being self-conscious, embarrassed and afraid to look stupid ourselves more than anything else - I know that's a fair criticism of me!

@Rainbunny
Ah...American wedding. I rest my case.

I would cringe so hard I would turn inside out.

If you do this everyone will be laughing behind your back for months/years afterwards.
