WIBU to buy Playmobil for myself?

Having seen @SoMuchToBits amazing Playmobil thread, I've fallen down a Playmo rabbit hole. The aquarium! The camper! The zoo!

Sadly my DD is 21 (years, not months 😂) so don't think I can get away with buying it for her. Shall I just blatantly buy it for myself?

Yes definitely, but it and enjoy it!

Playmobil is amazing

TheTitOfTheIceberg · 07/08/2019 11:18

Playmobil is the best thing ever. Buy it, and then invite me round to play with it with you Grin

TheTitOfTheIceberg · 07/08/2019 11:18

Also...there's a Playmobil thread???

LittleMissCwtch · 07/08/2019 11:19

I love playmobil! Buy it! I am also interested in the Playmobil thread.

RosemarysBush · 07/08/2019 11:20

Can I play too?

AryaStarkWolf · 07/08/2019 11:22

Go for it!

TooManyButtons · 07/08/2019 11:23

Incredible playmobil thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3653277-Its-the-summer-holiday-season-for-the-Playmobil-people-in-our-house

Don't blame me when you can't pay your bills but have a house full of Playmobil!

Playmobil thread? There used to be a poster who would post threads with a story and photos of playmobil. Do you mean that?

I used to like them. OP yanbu!

NoSauce · 07/08/2019 11:26

X post OP. Yay thanks for the link Smile

stephstrops · 07/08/2019 11:33

I feel the same about Lego. I tried for years to convince my DD she loved Lego but failed miserably. I hope if I’m lucky enough to have grandchildren they’ll be more easily persuaded

Herbalteahippie · 07/08/2019 12:03

I’m 39 I’ve had playmobil since I was 3... I tried to give it up but then the ancient Egypt range came out.... aaaargh
Hey at least it’s not drugs. Enjoy yourself! Can I come and play?

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 12:13

Thanks for plugging my thread @TooManyButtons Grin

Although much of our PLaymobil was ds's (he is now 18), I have bought some sets for myself, for Royal Weddings, advent calendars and summer holidays...

I'm sure there are much worse things to buy!

Hedgehogblues · 07/08/2019 12:16

I bloody love playmobil. I buy loads of it for myself

I bought myself a Playmobil nativity several years ago and I am newly in love with it every Christmas Grin

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 12:20

Playmobil Anonymous? Sounds interesting!

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 12:21

Our Playmobil nativity comes out every year, LadyMonica!

KnickersandGnomes · 07/08/2019 12:21

Go for it OP, it looks like brilliant (and very addictive lol) fun. Grin

user1492809438 · 07/08/2019 12:34

We still have a house full of Playmobil [sons 24 and 28] and I will never get rid of it. Oh the happy memories of husband assembling the Playmobil castle at 2am on Christmas day after a bucketful of beer, because he decided it would be great for them to play with it straight away rather than build it first. Never ever will i get rid of it. The aquarium looks great.

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 12:37

For my ds, part of the fun was putting the sets together, even if it took ages! But after a while he got really quick at it.

Nautiloid · 07/08/2019 12:40

I still have the Victorian...or Edwardian?...house from my childhood, and my brother's castle. We've added more over the years...a plane, a police car, animals and the utterly wonderful aquarium. Definitely not unreasonable.

BlueCornsihPixie · 07/08/2019 12:42

YANBU! Buy as much playmobil as you like, I love playmobil

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 12:43

I never had Playmobil as a child, as it wasn't around until I was about 13 or 14, so I'm making up for it now! Grin I always thought it looked great when I saw it in the shops even before ds was born, and when he started getting into it I could see what a good toy it was. I would have loved it as a child if it had been invented.

Tink88 · 07/08/2019 12:44

Playmobil is so underated I loved it as a kid and I want every set I see now

ipswichwitch · 07/08/2019 12:44

Playmobil is great. There’s even a kebab vendor, which I am absolutely buying for the DC —me—
