WIBU to buy Playmobil for myself?

Having seen @SoMuchToBits amazing Playmobil thread, I've fallen down a Playmo rabbit hole. The aquarium! The camper! The zoo!

Sadly my DD is 21 (years, not months 😂) so don't think I can get away with buying it for her. Shall I just blatantly buy it for myself?

Owlbert, think we must have about 5 Christmas advent calendars! 2 Christmas type ones, one Knights, one police, one fire...

RevSeptimusHarding · 07/08/2019 21:08

There are guys who play wargames with armies of Playmo soldiers. Google "Garden Wargames"! Go for it!

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 21:13

There's also a website called PlaymoFriends, where people post about Playmo. I've lurked on there but not joined. But there is an Italian guy on there who posts about his railway. He has two workmen called Henk and Ben. They are the same as my Brian and Norman!

darkcloudsandsunnyskies · 07/08/2019 21:16

No. I do it all the time.

YABVVU to prefer Playmobil to Lego

Justmeandtwokids · 07/08/2019 21:28

You can't tour the factory in Malta anymore. You used to have to be 5 - DD who's 8 went, but they'd stopped by the time DS was old enough. There is a fun park next to the factory where they have hundreds of sets of Playmobil to play with and it's only 2euro to get in.

I've seen a Playmobil cat sanctuary I want so I can live out my dream of running a cat sanctuary vicariously through Playmobil.

I've also been buying Sylvanian Family babies, claiming they are for my daughter when she is older. They're not though, they're for me Wink

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 21:32

Lego is good, but for different reasons. Playmobil is fab!

SoMuchToBits · 07/08/2019 22:28

I'm having the summer of my life this year through my Playmo summer holidays thread!

MarthasGinYard · 07/08/2019 22:50

stucknoue · 07/08/2019 23:19

I love that the horse poo is exactly the same as the chocolate icecream

SqueakyPigs · 08/08/2019 00:16

I really want a playmo guinea pig Blush

bookmum08 · 08/08/2019 00:20

SqueakyPigs I have the set with four little guinea pigs. They are so adorable. You definitely should get it.

flyingspaghettimonster · 08/08/2019 01:39

I bought the kids almost every set when they were younger. We had romans and Egyptians, zoos, circus, all manner of dollhouses and castles... they never really played with any of it :( it just took up box after box of space in their room and I realised just because I loved it wasn't enough reason to buy it for them. Same with barbies, monster high and sylvanian families. My kids suck at toys. I just hope my grandkids are into it... I want a whole bedroom set aside for cool play scenes.

SoMuchToBits · 08/08/2019 20:18

Fortunately for me, ds loved it, and only stopped playing with it entirely when he was 15.
