I'm thinking I'm pregnant?! Going insane

Some one talk me down. I'm shaking. I can't stop crying.

We tried for years to have ds who's now nearly 6. Having been trying since to have a much wanted other. Had a few miscarriages early in so I really shouldn't be getting excited.

We were told by doctors we wouldn't have another.

One of my best friends died last week and in my grief fog I had sex with dh as I knew I was ovulating (after ten years of trying to conceive you're pretty damn sure when it's happening). I knew I'd get pregnant. I've never been so sure.

Worra you're actually being pretty unkind. I can take a good dose of reality checks but after our hell of trying to conceive and possibly thinking I may be pregnant, there's no need to be so bitchy.

Ach! I've never before but totally could now. DH has agreed to go get a test for me so I'll try to keep myself busy until then.

If I took an ovulation test right now, my line would look like that.

My positive ovulation tests were when the test line was stronger than the control line.
Otherwise, I always had a line like yours.

Im bloody glad I posted and didn't just bounce off the walls happy and excited for the next few hours - days!

Because this was how we found out with ds I assumed this would be the same.

I have my fingers and toes crossed to you, but posting the ovulation tests for people to comment on won’t give you an answer and may give you false hope.

It must feel like it’s meant to be after losing your friend, but this is dangerous thinking and if you’re not pregnant you’ll just crash so hard.

Try to relax and don’t focus too hard on this until you know for sure.

I so hope you do get the result you want.

I get exactly those lines before my period on OPKs op. Loads of people have an LH increase again around then. They have to be darker than the control stil to be positive even for HCG.

I don't think there's any need to come into OPs thread and be rude and unkind @WorraLiberty after years of trying for a baby and being told she couldn't have any more, and in the dog of grief at the mo I can understand why @catofdoom emotions are running high. If you don't like it, don't come on her thread
Anyway OP best wishes. I have my fingers crossed but definitely try your best to not get hopes up too high, I know the feeling of bitter disappointment.

@OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 basically lh tests can also detect hcg (but not vice versa) so an extra line on an ovulation test can signal pregnancy, even though it would not be a positive by ovulation test standards. But there are other reasons for having increased LH so hence why it's not a reliable thing.

OP I missed that you only had sex last week- please don't get your hopes up.

@Andysbestadventure bugger bugger. I don't know how after having 100s if not 1000s of pregnancy tests around the house over the last few years we now have none!!!

It was last Wednesday and Thursday and ovulated Friday so that puts me at 13 days past ovulation today. Period is due tomorrow.

OP please explain? It's a negative ovulation test.

I remember using OPKs to test because I had way more of them and didn't want to waste the pregnancy tests.

And like you I tested postive on those both with ovulation and when I was pregnant -confirmed when I took the actual pregnancy test right afterwards. Followed by the pink first response one if that was positive.

So I get you. I also got that weird feeling of knowing you'd get pregnant. I did on every subsequent pregnancy after DS. Even though I'd fertility issues and losses I just had that. I'm not woo in the slightest but after 5 times in a row getting it right even when I wasn't specifically monitoring my cycle, I can only assume that my body and brain know more than I do.

For those unsure, basically a test like that is either picking up low-med levels of lh (negative for ovulation), or med-high levels of hcg (positive for pregnancy), and there's no way of knowing which. It is hard to explain.

I understand from an outside perspective people can see the hysteria but unless you've struggled you have no idea of the weird emotions you get at even the hope of something like this.. .

Calm down. Seriously.

It's a line, but as everyone said, you can have LH in your system at any point so a test for LH can be misleading even though it does also pick up hCG.

You say you had sex a week ago and that would be a very, very short time frame to get such a strong positive for hCG.

If you ovulated Friday, you're 6 DPO so I'm not sure how you're getting 13 DPO? Unless you really meant on the 19th, not the 26th.

I think you need to do a PT before getting hopes up

if you mistook those for pregnancy tests. It's easily done if you usually have a house full of both.
I don't think you'd have posted misleadingly if you'd have realised. It's really shit but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a positive result.
