I'm thinking I'm pregnant?! Going insane

Some one talk me down. I'm shaking. I can't stop crying.

We tried for years to have ds who's now nearly 6. Having been trying since to have a much wanted other. Had a few miscarriages early in so I really shouldn't be getting excited.

We were told by doctors we wouldn't have another.

One of my best friends died last week and in my grief fog I had sex with dh as I knew I was ovulating (after ten years of trying to conceive you're pretty damn sure when it's happening). I knew I'd get pregnant. I've never been so sure.

Look. This is a line right??

I can't breath. I feel like I can't move ever again.

I can see the hpt, sorry op it is negative but as you know those tests aren't the most sensitive so don't feel too down just yet Thanks

Imaysnapandfart · 01/08/2019 15:05

Sorry OP, I was hoping you'd get the result you wanted.

Just as an aside, I was throwing up with my last pregnancy before AF was due, and it was the one thing that made me take a test before I was even late. Everyone is different!

swingofthings · 01/08/2019 15:09

It been ages since I was in your shoes but your thread brought it all back. It's really rubbish to go through the monthly ups and downs and it feels impossible to imagine one day not having a clue where in your cycle you are.

It does happen though so at best you will get pregnant soon, at worse you'll get closer to stepping away from this stressful part of life.

Gustavo1 · 01/08/2019 15:09

Oh no ☹️ I was really rooting for you. So sorry Op

7sunnysundays · 01/08/2019 15:11

Sorry you didn't get the result you wanted OP. I get lines like that on my ovulation tests without ovulating or being pregnant 😢

Bellasblankexpression · 01/08/2019 15:11

Ah op I’m sorry if you’re disappointed.
I was just going to post to say I’ve had exactly the same thing happen to me and I wasn’t pregnant. You usually always get a line on an opk regardless of where you are in your cycle. I wonder if you’re ovulating twice this cycle or if you’re ovulating later than you though :-/

Still worth taking another test though to be 100% - is your period due yet? Sorry if I missed that detail.

sheshootssheimplores · 01/08/2019 15:12

Bless you ❤️

Fishfeedingfrenzy · 01/08/2019 15:12

Not ideal using ovulation tests. I would get a HCG test asap and put your mind at rest.

Shame as I have a couple of cheap tests lying around which I definitely don't intend to use anymore!

Justme1234567 · 01/08/2019 15:15

Just take a bloody pregnancy test

Fishfeedingfrenzy · 01/08/2019 15:17

Sorry I missed the last bit of the thread. Really sorry OP. If you still have symptoms and no AF it could be a possibility. On one pregnancy I had a faint positive at 9dpo and the other was at 18dpo on a 27 day cycle.

I wouldn't get hopes up, but dont rule it out either.

Daydreamer71 · 01/08/2019 15:17

When is af due op? Fingers crossed for you if there is still time who knows!

catofdoom · 01/08/2019 15:19

@Justme1234567 I've said it's very hard for me to get a test. I'm not just sitting here refusing to take one. Hmm

It involves dh taking the day off work and a 6 hour round trip.

NoSauce · 01/08/2019 15:19

MN needs a “ is this a line? “ section for sure.

Fishfeedingfrenzy · 01/08/2019 15:20

Oh and the reason I took a test so early was I was feeling so sick. My morning sickness started before I was even 4 weeks pregnant and carried on till about 18 weeks. It was bloody rough.

I think you just sort of know even before the line appears.

Best of luck OP.

ineedanotherholiday · 01/08/2019 15:20

Fx for you op! What was the sensitivity of the test?

NoSauce · 01/08/2019 15:22

Why can’t you get a test yourself OP?

It involves dh taking the day off work and a 6 hour round trip

How come?

catofdoom · 01/08/2019 15:24

@ineedanotherholiday 25 mIU, or 25 ng/L

@Fishfeedingfrenzy I was the same with ds. Started being sick around when my period was due and it went on for 5 months.

@NoSauce

OP lives on a an island

ElGuardiandenoche · 01/08/2019 15:26

I’m sorry to hear your news @catofdoom. I was hoping for better news for you. I will keep my fingers crossed for the other tests. Make sure DH gets a couple and then you can always do another in a couple of weeks just in case.

NoSauce · 01/08/2019 15:26

Thanks I’ve just seen that Nquartz.

ineedanotherholiday · 01/08/2019 15:27

I do find that cheaply sensitive ones usually work but I'd get a frer anyway just to double check.

catofdoom · 01/08/2019 15:28

@NoSauce because I live on an island where they don't sell pregnancy tests and can't drive a boat.

There's a community Facebook page where people post about upcoming mainland trips and ask each other to pick up things. There just happens to be a very lovely elderly gentleman posting that he's going to a chemist today. I can't can I? Grin

GettickledGETTICKLEDbyspiders · 01/08/2019 15:30

I would guess because she doesn’t drive and the shop is three hours away Hmm

Nicecupofcoco · 01/08/2019 15:30

So sorry its not the result you were hoping for. Id give it a wee bit longer and test again.
So sorry about your friend. You deserve some positive news.

Purplequalitystreet · 01/08/2019 15:31

See if you can get hold of a FRER. At 13dpo that should show something if you're pregnant. 25miu might not be strong enough. At least then you'll know for sure. Big hugs for you. The waiting is so stressful when you'd do anything to be pregnant. Some people on this thread would do well to remember that.
