The absolute state of the Daily Mail (re Meghan Markle)

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7298013/Meghan-Markles-organic-baby-shawl-used-swaddle-Archie-workers-earning-37-PENCE-hour.html

This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

You're right, I'd forgotten about Fergie and the constant references to her weight. Awful.

Aroundnabout1 · 30/07/2019 21:38

Yes, they are picking on her a bit but racist? No. Do people not remember how Kate was called Waity Katie, how she was called a social climber, saying she was bone idle, people slagging off her sister as a self-publicist, saying Carole Middleton was using the Royal publicity for their business profits, etc. Look at some of the comments on this piece:
JAN MOIR: Does Waity Katie know something we don't? bit.ly/a9fHKZ via dailym.ai/android

Aroundnabout1 · 30/07/2019 21:40

e.g. "Ms. Middleton is detested by the public. She comes across as a smug gold-digger. She definitely knows something that the rest of us do not know when it comes to PW."

Hopoindown31 · 30/07/2019 21:43

I hate the DM but the duchess is virtue signalling like a good 'un so sympathy is a bit limited I'm afraid.

LaurieMarlow · 30/07/2019 21:45

I know Kate got some criticism, but I don’t recall her being pulled apart for ‘touching her bump’ or totally innocuous things like that.

There are plenty of people out there who really do not and will never have a good word to say about Meghan, no matter what she does

justasking111 · 30/07/2019 21:48

I wonder about this campaign, who is pulling the strings. The editor or are his strings being pulled by higher ups. His sister was a lady in waiting to the queen once.

BertrandRussell · 30/07/2019 21:51

“I hate the DM but the duchess is virtue signalling like a good 'un ”

In what way?

MrsAJ27 · 30/07/2019 21:54

Absolutely disgusting comments about Megan...sad, pathetic keyboard warriors!

I really hope she doesn't read anything about herself.

catontherun · 30/07/2019 21:55

I wouldn't have had anything to do with a vile man like Piers Morgan in the first place. If she's as deep and insightful as she'd presumably like us to believe neither would she !

I found the Vogue thing highly superficial but then I loathe the whole IG & twitter thing and refuse to participate.

The D of S just doesn't come across as "genuine" to me. The baby shower demonstrated that she & her circle of friends have serious money to fritter away creating memories, (oh but they did flower arranging and donated the results to charity so that was ok). Surely one of those glamorous wealthy women could have hosted it in their own lovely home, no-one needed to know the cost of it all. I can only suppose that she is either ill-advised or will not listen to well-intentioned advice.

RedSheep73 · 30/07/2019 21:56

Don't buy the Daily Mail, don't visit their site, don't click their links. Every time you do, you are telling them you want to read this stuff.

justasking111 · 30/07/2019 22:06

The USA read the DM, their comments reveal that they do believe there is a lot of racism in the articles, which is awful if they think this.

Encyclo · 30/07/2019 22:07

If the DoS ran into a burning building and saved an orphan, the readers of the DM would accuse her of being a ‘try hard“

LaurieMarlow · 30/07/2019 22:07

She’s from another country, how the fuck should she know? She only had one meeting with him.

NoLeopard · 30/07/2019 22:12

You can find fault with her for meeting someone and then deciding she doesn't want to be friends with them?

CoolCarrie · 30/07/2019 22:12

Anti FGM campaign would be perfect for her, as dextra said.

PeoniesarePink · 30/07/2019 22:20

I find it hard to have the energy to feel anything for MM but the DM is bordering on outright hatred towards her now. The Piers Morgan article is shameful.

I think it's pretty poor that no one from "The Firm" appears to be trying to put a stop to it.

LaurieMarlow · 30/07/2019 22:24

You can find fault with her for meeting someone and then deciding she doesn't want to be friends with them?

There appears to be no fucking end to what people can find fault with when it comes to MM.

TheFormidableMrsC · 30/07/2019 22:26

@PeoniesarePink I think the firm try and rise above. As they should. I feel for her though. She must, however, have been warned that this shit would happen. Hence their absolute privacy stance. It's almost a "fuck you". Quite right in my view.

PortiaCastis · 30/07/2019 22:34

Agree Laurie Marlow MM is a target for everyone to bitch at, if she takes a breath some clown will be on the internet trying to destroy her, it's pathetic and doesn't make anyone look good
I hope she does rise above it all but I think there's only so much one person can take before they flip

Hithere12 · 30/07/2019 22:42

Are you kidding? He’s just as famous in USA as in the UK. He was a CNN host and presenter of America’s Got Talent for years.

Hithere12 · 30/07/2019 22:44

Not that I care about her meeting him lol but he is very famous in USA.

“I hate the DM but the duchess is virtue signalling like a good 'un ”

The whole guest edit of Vogue by a highly wealthy ex-movie actress turned aristocrat to push a social agenda that she is the living embodiment of the opposite of? Getting hubs to talk about responsible family planning to save the planet whilst jetting around the globe. She is no Greta Thunberg.

“Virtue signalling- a term that seeks to ridicule the ideas of altruism and generosity by suggesting that they are only ever undertaken in a search for admiration”

"Those without a response to criticism often seek to question the motives of the critic."

LizzieSiddal · 30/07/2019 23:03

I’m really not sure why an FGM campaign would be “perfect” for her. I think she should be allowed to pick her own interests.

Hithere12 · 30/07/2019 23:03

I think the Vogue issue is cringe, I’m not a fan of MM, I just think it’s getting ridiculous they are literally finding anything they can on a daily basis to criticise for.
