This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

Harry and Meghan have also been accused of refusing to give the name of their dog. Seriously???? Hmm

LaMarschallin · 03/08/2019 17:32

Harry and Meghan have also been accused of refusing to give the name of their dog.

Really?
If that's true, they could have just told Hello or whatever that s/he is called Spot when the name's actually Fido.
Canine privacy protected and adoring royalists happy: "Aww! Spot - cute".

We could start a book on what it actually is:
Who'll give me evens on Rover?

(Again, a joke. I'm not trying to start gambling on MN.
I'm not even sure what I just said means; think it came from a Jilly Cooper book)

justasking111 · 03/08/2019 17:36

Wasn`t there some question over Dianas foundation and how the money was being spent, the inference being it was a bit dodgy.

PortiaCastis · 03/08/2019 17:49

Oh FFS this is all getting too silly, if the sun fell out of the sky the Duchess would be blamed the newspaper and online bitching is ludicrous and as previously stated I think the woman will only take so much bitching before the super injunctions start, some of it is pretty low and nasty and the gutter press should be ashamed of itself
Very unpleasant people around

Today 12:25 LaMarschallin

To Jeremy Paxman?!🤣
Delusional much?

You do know I don't really think BR is JP, surely?

Yes, of course I do. Don’t be silly.

The very idea that someone on a mere forum is seen as being like Jeremy Paxman is what I find laughable!!!! Presumably you were referring to the poster’s forensic line of questioning?!
Grin

George Hamilton of the perma tan summed up celebrities beautifully imo.

Only the seriously perverted would praise George Hamilton.

Check out his relationship with Imelda Marcos and looting money from some of the poorest people in the world.

‘Essentially, the monarchy is corrupt’ – will republicanism survive Harry and Meghan? | Republicanism | The Guardian

While it is no surprise the RF cost $ pushing their royal Brand, just how much they cost should not be secret and exempt from tax while cuts continue to education, health and community public services.

The latest fairytale wedding spins new life into the royal Brand, it is working very well to distract the RF from previous negative public scrutiny, for example, of their expenses, however the public's desire to know the truth will continue, prorepublic or monarchist alike

midsummabreak · 04/08/2019 02:56

Secrecy about private life understandable. Secrecy about how much they cost , dodging taxes, not understandable
This secrecy enables them to refuse to keep Buckingham Palace open all year to pay towards cost of renovations while hiding investments overseas in Bermuda etc to further dodge taxes

yikesanddang · 04/08/2019 06:45

TellItLikeItReallyis

The point is as you yourself describe 'your perception ' and it's based on tabloid journalism. If you base your opinions on trash the. Your opinions will be, unfortunately, trash.

ivykaty44 · 04/08/2019 07:00

Long gone are the days of textiles actually being made in the UK.

The reason for this is greed

SamanthaBrique · 04/08/2019 07:28

@joyfullittlehippo my jaw just dropped, reading the comments on that "blind" item. How are people that stupid?? Honestly, the world of the Megziteers is as weird as that of the Cumberbitches, who claim Benedict's wife has kidnapped him and tricked him into marriage!

LaMarschallin · 04/08/2019 08:12

Pleased my diagnosis has been downgraded from "delusional" to just "silly".

Presumably you were referring to the poster’s forensic line of questioning?!

Oh good. You did actually at least understand the joke even if you didn't think much of it. Fair enough.

The very idea that someone on a mere forum is seen as being like Jeremy Paxman is what I find laughable!!!!

Just noticed all those exclamation marks. I'm guessing you don't read Terry Pratchett.
Although his characters have to write out the laughter - eg "Ahahaha Hahaha!!!!" - instead of having handy emojis.

I think pulling out of things in early pregnancy is quite allowed! It was a shame if she missed things, but I'm sure all concerned quite understood. She was really quite a trooper during her pregnancy.

But as I insisted on here yesterday, M+H didn't seem to know when they were ahead. And I think the absolute no. 1 no-no for anyone in the public eye, let alone a royal, is to preach. It immediately turns the spotlight back on the preacher and us peasants don't care too much for hypocrisy.

BertrandRussell · 04/08/2019 10:24

So basically you are saying that nobody can express and opinion about environmental issues. I shouldn’t have persuaded our local farm shop to go “bagless” because I drove myself to the meetings I had about it and I am flying on holiday shortly. That is the same situation in miniature.

SamanthaBrique · 04/08/2019 10:25

I think the days of royals not having a cause vanished when Charles took an interest in organic farming! They all have their pet passions - Kate has kids' mental health, William has men's, Harry Invictus, Meghan has women's empowerment, Sophie's spoken out against sexual violence, Eugenie modern slavery etc etc.

I don't think it's a bad thing but I do think it's telling that the Cambridge causes are seen as good by the press whilst the Sussexes "preach".

BertrandRussell · 04/08/2019 10:29

And talking about things is not the same as preaching, surely. I read the Vogue interview with PH and it didn’t sound preachy to me. Neither did the speech he gave to young people at Wembley. And I have to say I am very impressed by his contribution to awareness about mental health. This reminds me a bir of when the dangers of smoking started to be publicised- some people responded to “Hey, cigarettes can make you ill” with “how dare you tell me wht to do- i’m going to smoke double!”

mrscampbellblackagain · 04/08/2019 10:36

Interesting Betrand, for me it is more like Prince Harry is smoking a cigarette whilst telling others not too Wink

Anyway, I really can't see the Royal Family lasting much longer in their current format.

BertrandRussell · 04/08/2019 10:38

“Interesting Betrand, for me it is more like Prince Harry is smoking a cigarette whilst telling others not too”
Even if that’s what he is doing, we would be shooting ourselves in the foot by ignoring the message, surely?

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 04/08/2019 10:45

I think if you're going to preach on green issues then if your own carbon footprint is massively over average then you're fair game.

BertrandRussell · 04/08/2019 10:50

“I think if you're going to preach on green issues then if your own carbon footprint is massively over average then you're fair game.”

Absolutely. But the message is still sound. And what is the difference between preaching and talking, commenting or awareness raising?

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 04/08/2019 10:53

I'm not a massive royal watcher. Can you point me to any concrete steps they're taking to limit their environmental impact?

BertrandRussell · 04/08/2019 10:55

“I'm not a massive royal watcher. Can you point me to any concrete steps they're taking to limit their environmental impact?”

That doesn’t mean what H is saying is wrong.
