www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7298013/Meghan-Markles-organic-baby-shawl-used-swaddle-Archie-workers-earning-37-PENCE-hour.html

This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

It is odd, this “lecturing” thing. I’ve read the PH interview and it doesn’t seem lecturey to me at all. You can’t really talk to an environmentalist without talking about environmental issues, surely?

SamanthaBrique · 01/08/2019 09:22

Well what would Jane Goodall know @BertrandRussell? She only cares about monkeys Hmm

HattieHu · 01/08/2019 09:33

Clearly MM has to divorce Harry and move to Cambodia so that British people can be happy again. Grin

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 09:41

Princess Anne is a particularly ridiculous comparison on the clothes spending front.

She’s had about 40 years to build up her royal wardrobe. And she clearly hasn’t changed size much in that time (fair play) as she has been seen wearing clothes from years and years ago.

Obviously someone new to the RF and changing shape with pregnancy will spend more.

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 01/08/2019 09:49

MM is 37. She's hardly likely to have half a dozen kids at this point anyway.

SamanthaBrique · 01/08/2019 09:50

I can't imagine Anne's clothes were cheap to begin with either @LaurieMarlow. If they've lasted her this long then they were clearly of very good quality!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/08/2019 10:11

Invictus wasn’t even Harry’s idea, he’s just a front man and convenient for PR

Have to admit that's a new one on me - bit annoyed with myself for swallowing a piece of PR fluff too readily TBH, since it's something I usually avoid

Details online seem a bit sketchy though ... do you have any decent links please?

BertrandRussell · 01/08/2019 10:19

“Invictus wasn’t even Harry’s idea, he’s just a front man and convenient for PR“
No idea if that’s true- but even if it is, he does an excellent job as front man!

ZandathePanda · 01/08/2019 10:30

To the poster above Re: Jane Goodall, I expect she ‘cares a lot about monkeys’ but her main work has been on apes, specifically chimpanzees. We are also apes btw.
She is an environmentalist with decades of experience.

Next time you look up into space, look at all the stars and planets and realise we are on the only one of all of these that has the right conditions (at the moment) to support life. It’s pretty obvious we should all support the environment and that cooperation is needed to do it.

Going back to the hateful Daily Mail. I had a look at it the other day online. It should be banned. I am all for free press but the editorial standards are gutterish. How they are allowed to get away with the harassing of MM? It must be horrendous for Harry after how the press were implicated in the mental health and death of his mother.

SamanthaBrique · 01/08/2019 10:33

Yes I know @ZandathePanda, I was being sarcastic!

Zazazube · 01/08/2019 11:25

I have a lot of sympathy for Meghan as someone who was/is viewed as the interloper within DP’s family.

The idea that you aren’t “allowed” to have a mind of your own in this day and age is ludicrous, RF or no RF. It clearly doesn’t worry the RF too much otherwise they’d do more to stop M&H from doing their own thing. The tabloids will always find a target and sadly for Meghan, it appears it’s her turn for the time being.

Madfrogs · 01/08/2019 11:33

Maybe the RF don’t care because they are giving them enough rope to hang themselves, then when Charles egh becomes king and slims it all down it will be who are the Sussex’s?

The only ones that actually matter throne wise is Charles then the Cambridge’s.

I’m not sure quite why they are getting so much paper space apart from a hidden agenda. Royals don’t tend to be in the paper quite so much so often as the Sussex’s are.

Zazazube · 01/08/2019 11:37

I think it’s pretty obvious why they’re getting so much paper space. They are selling copies and that’s really all the rags care about. Diana was featured on more covers than anyone else of her time and each time she did appear, that edition sold more copies than any other.

Madfrogs · 01/08/2019 11:41

I honestly don’t know much about Diana’s paper history I was 5 when she died.

TSSDNCOP · 01/08/2019 11:46

According to the Royal Foundation website, Invictus was founded by PH in 2014. Does the poster who said he didn’t found the Games have the name of who did?

Madfrogs · 01/08/2019 11:51

Although he started the uk games he just ripped off the us version didn’t he?

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 11:55

I don’t think it matters who came up with it. Most good ideas are ripped off other ideas.

He has given tremendous energy to it and been a great spokesman for it.

I’m not a fan of Harry, but this is hard to deny.

Madfrogs · 01/08/2019 11:57

Oh I’m not denying that just wondering if that was what the other poster was getting at with the whole he didn’t start it thing.

BertrandRussell · 01/08/2019 12:01

It was such a mean spirited thing to say!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/08/2019 12:10

Was it though, Bertrand? I'm the first to agree Harry's done something for Invictus and he's certainly a good figurehead, but the story given out is that he founded the whole thing and if that's not true I'd prefer to know ... I've got this strange aversion to deceit, you see

Right now I genuinely don't know, which is why I asked the question

TSSDNCOP · 01/08/2019 12:18

The Warrior Games have taken place annually since 2010. It was created by the United States Olympic Committee and hosted through 2014 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.[2][3] Britain's Prince Harry, at the time serving as a Captain and helicopter pilot in the British Army, opened the 2013 Games,[4] which inspired him to create the Invictus Games, an international counterpart to the Warrior Games with national representations.[5]

TSSDNCOP · 01/08/2019 12:19

What an utter wanker he is.

I think the Queen has cracked it, has her clothes made, no labels for the media to state she has been seen in Gucci, Armani, etc. No-one has the slightest clue what her wardrobe costs.
