This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

I think all of the royals live lavish lives in comparison to us mere mortals but H & M are by far the most ostentatious with their wealth. Meghans's dress in their engagement photos cost over £50k. FFS! I am not letting the others off the hook, but it's H & M's sanctimonious preaching + ostentatious spending + preciousness over baby that adds up to let them eat cake" effect.

They are either ignoring all advice or they are getting bad advice.

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 00:10

dress in their engagement photos cost over £50k

You do realise that Kate has a fuck tonne of couture in her wardrobe that they don’t even give a price for because it’s so far beyond the reach of ordinary mortals.

Janista · 01/08/2019 00:32

She spent £800,000 on clothes in the last year.

Do you think Princess Anne did?

Sorry but Meghan is hugely extravagant.

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 00:35

I’d say Anne’s spent plenty in her life.

I would bet good money that Meghan’s clothes expenditure this year wouldn’t even put her in the top five among the royals.

Does anyone talk about how much the men spend on their bespoke suits. No. Interesting, because that’s also a fuck tonne.

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 00:37

hugely extravagant

The Queen has a seven billion pound jewellery collection. For context.

ThreeRandomWords · 01/08/2019 00:53

So, LaurieMarlow, how much do you want to bet?

Meghan was estimated to spend more in clothes in 2018 than any other European "Royal". (And, no, her wedding dress wasn't included in the total).

Meghan spending estimated at $508 000

Best highest spender, Crown Pruncess Mary $144 000

Duchess of Cambridge $85 000

Janista · 01/08/2019 00:57

You can dress it up all you like. Meghan is grotesquely extravagant.

The Queens jewellery collection isn’t her personal property.

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 01:00

The Queens jewellery collection isn’t her personal property.

That’s not the point. She has access to 7 billion pounds worth of jewels why would she ever have to spend a penny.

LaurieMarlow · 01/08/2019 01:01

So, LaurieMarlow, how much do you want to bet?

Yeah, I’m gonna had over money based on some random blog on the internet Grin GrinGrin

Good one.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 01/08/2019 01:06

On a completely separate issue I think it is time Harry cut his hair. He is going bald quite significantly now and the wind swept front is beginning to look too John like a comb over.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 01/08/2019 01:07

John !!! Where did that come from should read
Too much

“And woke politicians like Jacinda Ardern and Greta Thunberg both of whom are pushing a very specific political agenda.

This actually turns a lot of people off.”
Blimey. Not sure how to respond to this........

Janista · 01/08/2019 07:08

You may think it’s all motherhood and apple pie but the truth is Greta (more specifically, the people who are using and manipulating her and stand to gain $ from her cause - follow the money) and Jacinda are not uncontroversial people.

You just spend too much time in your echo chamber and think they are angels.

Trendy, right on and “now” causes may give plaudits at the moment but when the media and political agenda move on, those participating look very stupid.

Harry and Meghan just look like “right on” celebs - championing the trans agenda, Greta thunberg and others who just come across as hectoring - “there is no debate”.

It’s just bound to annoy many. This isn’t what the royals are for.

If they want to push these agendas, they need to step out of the world of palaces, £800,000 a year clothes budgets and millions upon millions of pounds of public funding for their nauseatingly excessive lifestyles, and get into real work and real life.

We don’t pay them to lecture us or tell us how we should be living our lives or what political views are acceptable.

Janista- do you believe in man made climate change?

SamanthaBrique · 01/08/2019 08:42

That spending figure includes wedding jewellery probably gifted to her from her father in law plus her reception dress. Take that away and it brings the total down considerably.

Meghan still spent more on clothes than other royals but it was her first year as a royal plus she was pregnant. She had to buy new clothes as nothing she already had fit her for very long!

SamanthaBrique · 01/08/2019 08:44

Don't get me wrong, they ALL spend too much - Meghan, Kate, Camilla, even Charles and his bespoke suits and £1000 shoes - but why single one out over others?

The blogger said she doesn’t include the cost of any of Kate’s couture gowns

I wonder what the point is of that list then @joyfullittlehippo? Couture is insanely expensive! Kate was on maternity leave for a large part of 2018 so wouldn't have spent as much as she usually does, plus including items Meghan wore before she even married is silly as she'd have paid for them herself. I'm not sure the list is particularly reliable.

Janista · 01/08/2019 09:00

In case you hadn’t noticed the Queen is our head of state and we had a visit from H and M not long ago which cost as fortune to Australian taxpayers too. And MN is a global site with lots of global posters and overseas Brits, all of whom are entitled to a view and many a vote too.

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 01/08/2019 09:09

Elected politician in "pushing political agenda" shocker Hmm

Zazazube · 01/08/2019 09:13

Eamonn Holmes had a go the other day and got called a racist. Tbf he is a bit of a nob.
