An honest mistake...

I really need cheering up!

The boys have gone away this weekend, I get random lyrics in my head, I was thinking about 'You're my best friend' by Queen. I sent it to my OH half saying this is perfect for his best mate who was with him & himself.

(Don't start sipping your morning coffee after this bit or you might choke!)

I text a few times to see if they'd gone to bed, as was meant to get a call. I got that call, it didn't help I'm a cup half full type of person. So as he was going on about how horrid I was for sending it, no matter how much I protested I thought it was a sweet song about best friends, when he quoted various lyrics, I couldn't stop laughing. My OH thinks I'm actually evil.

So I wondered what have other people done as a wholly innocent mistake that went very very wrong.

No texts this morning or phonecalls, tried to call but got through to answer machine. I've got a feeling I'm definitely not in good books still.

I've read this through twice and still can't figure out what you're talking about!

MrsMozartMkII · 27/07/2019 10:04

I'm not understanding it either...

MrsTommyBanks · 27/07/2019 10:04

@Wishimaywishimight thank fuck for that. I thought it was just me.
I even Googled the lyrics and I'm still Confused

IamtheOA · 27/07/2019 10:05

What lyrics

Todaythiscouldbe · 27/07/2019 10:05

What??

IamtheOA · 27/07/2019 10:05

nitgel · 27/07/2019 10:05

OldAndWornOut · 27/07/2019 10:06
Confused
MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 27/07/2019 10:07

Ok then....

Bunnybigears · 27/07/2019 10:08

I dont know what you are talking about but I always thought that song was about lovers not just friends.

WhatsNextMrsLandingham · 27/07/2019 10:08

The lyrics are nice, nothing sinister about them at all. Did you send him the right song OP?

donquixotedelamancha · 27/07/2019 10:08

I'm not understanding it either..

Presumably because it's a love song and the lyrics make clear they are a couple.

I've got a feeling I'm definitely not in good books still.

If that's true it seems pathetic.

Queenioqueenio · 27/07/2019 10:08

Don’t get it, what did he think you meant?

hellojim · 27/07/2019 10:08

Not the foggiest

Ninkaninus · 27/07/2019 10:10

Op thought it was a song about friendship but it’s actually about romantic love? And her OH got offended that she said the song was about him and his friend?

I don’t think there’s much chance of coffee being spat out over the keyboard...

ShatnersWig · 27/07/2019 10:10

Don't normally see such an incoherent posting this time of the day. We occasionally get one in the middle of the night when someone is pissed.

Gruzinkerbell1 · 27/07/2019 10:10

No idea either

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 27/07/2019 10:10

Perfect for him and his best mate?

Do you think they're having an affair?
Or are you in love with his best mate?

CharminglyGawky · 27/07/2019 10:10

Well I mean it's about being best friends within a relationship but it can't be that surely?

There is literally nothing about that song that is upsetting in any way!

isabellerossignol · 27/07/2019 10:11

I'm guessing the OP's partner is miffed because he thinks she was implying that he is having an affair with his best friend?

At least I think that's what she means...

sheshootssheimplores · 27/07/2019 10:12

I have a feeling the lyrics of the song OP referred to are not exactly positive so her DH got the hump. Personally I don’t want song lyrics posted to my inbox at any time of the day 😂

Morgan12 · 27/07/2019 10:12

All I can understand about this is that you genuinely text your OH song lyrics. And for that alone YABU.

Ninkaninus · 27/07/2019 10:13

Oh heh x posts with a few others.

funnylittlefloozie · 27/07/2019 10:14

I think you and your OH are definitely on the same page when it comes to incoherent communication! You are perfectly suited!

Crunchymum · 27/07/2019 10:14

You lead a very interesting and colourful life OP. Not.
