An honest mistake...

I really need cheering up!

The boys have gone away this weekend, I get random lyrics in my head, I was thinking about 'You're my best friend' by Queen. I sent it to my OH half saying this is perfect for his best mate who was with him & himself.

(Don't start sipping your morning coffee after this bit or you might choke!)

I text a few times to see if they'd gone to bed, as was meant to get a call. I got that call, it didn't help I'm a cup half full type of person. So as he was going on about how horrid I was for sending it, no matter how much I protested I thought it was a sweet song about best friends, when he quoted various lyrics, I couldn't stop laughing. My OH thinks I'm actually evil.

So I wondered what have other people done as a wholly innocent mistake that went very very wrong.

No texts this morning or phonecalls, tried to call but got through to answer machine. I've got a feeling I'm definitely not in good books still.

Did you send the wrong song?

I am lost

I think this is the reason DH was grumpy, not the song lyrics.

Nobody likes to be interupted during sex.

DontCallMeShitley · 27/07/2019 10:22

Que?

Bezalelle · 27/07/2019 10:23

Eh?

NoBaggyPants · 27/07/2019 10:23

It's definitely not a song about platonic friendship!

Ooh you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It's you you're all I see
Ooh you make me live now honey
Ooh you make me live

Sorry dude, you came to the wrong place.
i think the only way forward is to send more lyrics over...let’s stay together...?

KarmaStar · 27/07/2019 10:26

What is your AIBU please op?

Ninkaninus · 27/07/2019 10:27

Yes that’s the point of the thread...

Apparently the cause of much hilarity for OP, and extreme consternation on her OP’s part. Confused

DaphneFanshaw · 27/07/2019 10:27

Or maybe the village people YMCA.

IncrediblySadToo · 27/07/2019 10:29

🤣🤣

Well, I’m sure he’ll get over it once he’s home again & his best mate isn’t there to ‘comfort’ him

hazell42 · 27/07/2019 10:29

@donquixotedelamancha

Grin made me choke on my cornflakes

Chune · 27/07/2019 10:29

I suspect he thinks you sent it as a passive aggressive snark because he’s away on a jolly with his mate, but are trying to pass it off as an ‘aww that’s sweet’.

AuntieDolly · 27/07/2019 10:31

He is away for the weekend - leave him alone and find something interesting to do.

RustyNail · 27/07/2019 10:32

This. 100%.

longwayoff · 27/07/2019 10:33

Crikey. Let the poor bugger have a weekend away without hassling him. I'm surprised you didn't climb into the boot of the car. Surprise!

Ineedanicepop · 27/07/2019 10:33

Were you drunk texting?
Cos' your op reads like you're still drunk. Confused

OldAndWornOut · 27/07/2019 10:34

sunshinesupermum · 27/07/2019 10:47

LOL Livebythecoast

PriestessModwena · 27/07/2019 10:51

I'm not drunk, I woke up & panicked a bit, I'm sorry it was incoherent.

The gist is, I was trying to be nice, failed, really really failed.

What an exciting life you have OP and no I didn't choke on my coffee. What is your AIBU by the way?

I thought such drivel was reserved for chat.

TheHandsOfNeilBuchanan · 27/07/2019 10:51

So you got annoyed that he didn't text you back so sent him some passive aggressive Queen lyrics, implying he's having an affair with his pal. He now isn't talking to you. If the band of choice wasn't Queen, I'd say you were both twelve.

Iamnotagoddess · 27/07/2019 10:54

WTAF?

Why are you texting him to see if he’s gone to bed Confused

What?
