Annoyed/Angry at DH - do I have a leg to stand on?

Just got my period today, so I'm in a lot of pain. I've also been having terrible PMS during this heat which has undoubtedly made me incredibly irritable and a bit sleep deprived (I've done my best to contain myself).

Dh and I agreed earlier this evening that he would walk the dog and go to Tesco whilst I did a quick tidy up. I'm not that hungry so asked DH to bring back a Solero and a cold diet coke can.

I'm angry because DH bought back a mulipack of Magnum MILK chocolates (give me horrible flashbacks of choc ices) and a MINI diet coke can. He then proceeded to cook a god awful dinner (purposefully missing out the best element) and wasted the expensive ingredient.

I've decided to sleep in the spare room as I need some space. Dh has accused me of being a childish brat. I probably am.

AIBU?

Good Lord, seriously?Grin

monalistic · 26/07/2019 00:04

Oh and he stopped me ordering Sushi earlier

Yabu a bit. But it’s hot and you’re probably best in the spare room for the night.

gamerchick · 26/07/2019 00:05

He was lazy. It's easier to find the little cans than the big ones and the Lolly's were probably the first ones he laid his hands on.

Still, it's simple to return that favour.

Sleep in the spare room anyway, it's too hot to share a bed imo.

PS I have endometriosis and Dh knows my medicine only takes the edge off

To answer your question, no.

monalistic · 26/07/2019 00:07

This is part of what is pissing me off. Apparently "that was all they had". I've never seen our local Tesco Express as bare as he makes out

YABVFU

our Sainsbury’s was almost totally out of ice cream today, and it’s a big one not even a local.

gamerchick · 26/07/2019 00:11

Finding a single can of diet coke isn't easy in Tesco. They're all multipacks at first glance.

Yes he was lazy. That would irritate me at that time of the month as well.

Itslookinglikeabeautifulday · 26/07/2019 00:14

In this weather, they may well have sold out of both....

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 26/07/2019 00:15

Oh god when I really fancy a Chinese and DH gives me the 'we have good in the freezer' chat it really winds me up when I'm in a mood already! So YANBU to be annoyed but having said that I don't think it's worth arguing and having bad feeling about. Just plan some kind of subtle revenge, like buying ice cream he doesn't like and eating it all.

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 26/07/2019 00:16

Food not good obviously!

PawPawNoodle · 26/07/2019 00:17

My local tesco was sold out of all fruity ice lollies today, which isn't shocking given it's the hottest day of the year so far. He still got something for you even if it wasnt exactly what he wanted. If the coke is one of the thin tall cans it came from the meal deal section and if it's the really mini one then it came from the alcohol mixer section - if the latter he actually had a bit of a trek to find you it.

I wouldn't order sushi in this weather either given itll come warm from the travel and I'd be worried about manky fish and rice. And it's expensive.

NoSquirrels · 26/07/2019 00:19

I've never seen our local Tesco Express as bare as he makes out

In our local Co-op at 6pm there were no buns of any kind, no ketchup, limited ice creams, no sausages, no lemonade, no ice, limited cold drinks ... and I wasn’t even really searching for much!

You’re hot, in pain, cranky. Sleep in the spare room and tomorrow get sushi and a Solero. It’ll be ok tomorrow. Flowers

monalistic · 26/07/2019 00:20

I have consciously tried not to be pissed off. Even reminding myself of how lucky I am to have my twins hasn't worked (usually does). I blaming this on hormones and heat.

I have endometriosis so would of probably clobbered him by now maybe booked a hotel room😂 but maybe have a chat tomorrow about how you feel after the storm had worn off

NoSquirrels · 26/07/2019 00:24

*I have consciously tried not to be pissed off.^
Feel the feelings, have a wallow and make up tomorrow. I think your DH tried, but he didn’t get the right things right. It’s so fucking annoying when someone doesn’t get it right (when they’re supposed to KNOW you, FFS!) and somehow doubly annoying when food is involved.

He tried, he failed, you’re pissed off, he’s hurt you didn’t appreciate what he DID do ... tomorrow is another day. And hopefully a much better one.

Thanks everyone. I do feel a bit unhinged but I appreciate the empathetic posts.

I just assumed DH was being lazy, didn't even consider the rush to buy cold things.

OP posts:
hadthesnip2 · 26/07/2019 00:33

Our Co-oP local only had the 4 pack of fruit pastilles ice lollies at around 6.30 this evening. No idea about cans of coke as we only buy bottles. (Why buy a can when £for£ a bottle is so much cheaper )

Butterymuffin · 26/07/2019 00:42

The cans are loads better for the environment. Easier to recycle.

monalistic · 26/07/2019 00:45

Oh my good God!

He's just let the dog eat grass when he took him out to wee. So I'm now on vomit watch.

OP posts:
Lucked · 26/07/2019 00:52

I am going to have to say YABU because Soleros are rank and he was saving you from yourself.

Sorry you are feeling a bit shit tonight.

ineedaholidaynow · 26/07/2019 00:53

Our dog eats grass all the time. Usually only small bits, it’s only when he eats vast quantities is he sick and I thought dogs did that naturally to purge their tum (or is that an urban myth?)

Think you need to try and get some sleep OP. Let DH be on vomit watch, if needed.

user27495824 · 26/07/2019 01:07

I don't think YABU because my DH frequent comes back with entirely different things than what I asked for or empty handed of the treats, and I know we are meant to be greatful anyway Hmm . It's happened so many times I just find it shitty. So many times he has said 'they had none on the shelves' of supermarket staples they just wouldn't run out of. One such argument we had years ago was when he bought me full sugar coke instead of diet. I detest full sugar coke with a passion, and it wasn't only the disappointment of not getting the cold drink I was desperately hankering for, but that he hadn't remembered that when I know all the little things he likes. I honestly try my best to say nothing when he gets it all wrong but usually I fail and it escalates Blush. Although running out of Soleros may have been legit... Why didn't he buy you a multipack, or several small cans though?
