Because of crippling arachnophobia? 😭

Maybe it's my doctors that are just shite then. I tried to get help after a traumatic event- didn't get any. Same for misophonia, no help. They'd laugh me out of the surgery if I turned up asking for help with a phobia. Maybe I need to move! 🤷‍♀️

@Macca84 I think a lot of doctors are shite with these things unfortunately! Like PP suggested, have a look for IAPT in your local area, they offer a range (admittedly limited) of mental health treatments, CBT etc. It's still NHS but usually quicker/more useful than GP.

you know you can buy mosquito net frames to put across your open windows?
No need to make others suffer due to your phobia....

OP - I hear you. I opened my car windows today an hour before I was due to go out. Went to put the baby in the car and there was a HUGE spider in a web near the glovebox. Thank actual fuck I spotted it before driving on a motorway!!

I don't open the window in my bedroom. There are lots of spiders in the house, which I manage to live around.. But if I leave the window open in the bedroom I can guarantee that there will be two or three huge wolf spiders sitting on the bedroom ceiling by the window when I go to bed, and I can't go to sleep without moving them and it's just too much faff, so I keep the window shut. Even when it's as unbearably hot as today.
