well allegedly Boris has been in talks to ensure the hard border doesn't happen, but I remember being on here and sticking up for Theresa May's brexit deal and everyone couldn't wait for her to get gone, so you get what you wish for I suppose.

The idea that JC is a goer for PM has been laughable from day one. If they'd had a better, more centrist leader this wouldn't be happening.

IAmNoAngel · 23/07/2019 12:36

As someone who voted for Hunt, my only hope for a competent PM is now a replacement for Corbyn, to take over when we (tories) lose the next election.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 23/07/2019 12:36

Give it 6 months. No... 100 days!

Seeingadistance · 23/07/2019 12:36

It was inevitable, but it becoming reality is just ... dreadful.

We are doomed.

AlienImposter · 23/07/2019 12:37

Good, at last we might finally get on with leaving the EU, deal or no deal, we need to just get on with it. TM did nothing but dither and totally failed the country

AngeloMysterioso · 23/07/2019 12:37

160,000 of the most out of touch people in the UK have just elected the most out of touch PM.

Actually, it’s even fewer than that- our PM has been chosen by 92,153 Tory party members.

Which, if anyone is interested, equals about 0.14% of the current UK population.

Looks like I am in the minority here...ducks behind the sofa! I actually voted for Boris...I know the pubic persona of the bumbling idiot is what most people see but I wouldn;t write him off just yet.All is not as it seems...he is ruthless, yes.takes no prisoners, yes but he is highly intelligent It is going to be a bumpy few days but I am willing to give him a chance...All is not what it seems with Boris..you might hopefully be surprised at what he can achieve...going now before I get lynched!!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/07/2019 12:38

It's because both say anything that pops into their heads, both tell lies and don't even care when they're proven to be lies as it's the lie that people remember, not the truth.

Yup. In other times, both would have been ruled out on grounds of character at the very first attempt to get into politics. Constantly unfaithful to their wives, all sorts of unsavoury stuff alleged and substantiated. During the Cold War they would both have been a gift to the KGB. What a relief that Putin's Russia is so principled and transparent in its dealings with other countries' politics. Hmm

Boatsexer · 23/07/2019 12:38

Pretty sure Nostradamus saw this one coming.

MaMaMaMySharona · 23/07/2019 12:38

@BeerandBiscuits @Conkeee

Can either of you actually explain why you voted for him or are you just here to troll us Grin

MyFlabberIsAghast · 23/07/2019 12:38

I notice the poster who voted for him hasn't been back.

I knew it was coming but I still hoped that some people would see sense. I know JH wasn't much better but fuck it anyone's better than BJ.

Fibbke · 23/07/2019 12:38

years and years

What on Earth are his party on !!!?? ....
Bumbling fool

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 23/07/2019 12:39

I predict by the end of the year we'll have a GE and then hung Con/Brexit Party government so Farrage and Johnson at the top - god help us all.

Jocasta2018 · 23/07/2019 12:40

I feel sick - the same feeling as on the morning of 24th March 2016😢

Fibbke · 23/07/2019 12:40

I think he's quite intelligent and more importantly has a lot of the cabinet supporting him. That's not an insubstantial advantage.

MaMaMaMySharona · 23/07/2019 12:40

@AlienImposter why on earth would be 'just get on with it' rather than doing it properly?!

AlienImposter · 23/07/2019 12:40

We need to leave with no deal if that is what it takes

HellYeah90s · 23/07/2019 12:41

Sad state of affairs when the person who fucked the NHS is the preferable PM..

VivienneHolt · 23/07/2019 12:41

Boris tries to renegotiate the brexit deal, but fails.

Boris tries to take us out with no deal.

Boris can’t get Parliament to ratify a no deal brexit.

The government falls.

There is a general election.

No party can form a majority. A coalition between labour and the Lib Dems is formed. The Lib Dems insist on a second referendum on brexit in return for their support.

People vote to stay in the EU.

We’re all saved.

(It’s a nice pipe dream, isn’t it?)

Fibbke · 23/07/2019 12:42

Jo Swinson won't work with Corbyn.

SinkGirl · 23/07/2019 12:42

We need to leave with no deal if that is what it takes

Why?

lolaflores · 23/07/2019 12:42

He is a self interested publicity hound with the very faintest grasp on facts. He only serves himself.
Only.
In any situation.
The nation is merely a vehicle for his egotistical idea that he is a leader. He never can be as he lacks real intelligence and even a scrap if compassion.
He is going to seriously fuck up the current issues in the gulf.
I mean heavy damage

pigsDOfly · 23/07/2019 12:42

Well, lets hope he surprises us all and turns out to be a decent human being after all.

But if he runs to form we're all pretty much fucked.
