Yeah, Jeremy Corbyn is the root of all evil.
But Johnson has voted for the tax credits being capped when you have kids, and have a working income.
This from the man with 6 or 7 kids...or whatnot lol

PortiaCastis · 25/07/2019 14:21

Boris is delivering speeches written by someone else and is flamboyant in his delivery so he seems sincere to some, personally I think he's a self serving hooray henry who indeed will be Boris of the 100 days, then we'll have a G.E. and as pp pointed out fuck knows what'll happen next

merrymouse · 25/07/2019 14:22

It’s a shame mn has so many die hard deranged remainers. It cancels out all sensible, informative debate.

Left wing remainers aren't responsible for the Tory party's self inflicted mess.

Theoretically we are supposed to be in year 5 of the first Tory majority since Major.

Instead the Tories voluntarily threw away their majority and are on their 3rd PM in almost as many years. 'Deranged' doesn't do the situation justice.

sionnachbeag · 25/07/2019 14:23

People think MN is left leaning becsusr the Overton Window has shifted so fsr to the right that what woupd have been considered centerist is now far left. Labour's policies were almost all more moderate than those run by the conservatives in thr 50s, 60s and 70s but are derided as Stalinist by the posters here, who tend to get their economics and politics from soudbites and the gutter press rather than any actual knowledge and understanding.

Its why they all cheered on Trump too

bizmum1 · 25/07/2019 14:23

Nobody had a clue what they were voting for. Does anybody REALLY understand Brexit now? Even the politicians? The information hasn't been forthcoming because nobody really knows. I believe Boris and his team will put an end to the dithering and move things forward to Brexit at the end of October. What happens after that is anyone's guess.

BishopBrennansArse · 25/07/2019 14:26

Actually the reason there's no debate on Brexit is because leavers have yet to tell us what they believe the tangible benefits of leaving will be. They just repeatedly say they will be yelled down so aren't going to state their arguments - convenient get out when you don't have any I suppose.

That's me being a resigned remainer, by the way. I'm far from deranged although I exercise my democratic right to protest and I will gladly debate with someone who gives me their views. Nobody ever does, though.

The80sweregreat · 25/07/2019 14:28

There was a thread for leavers the other week and it was polite and informative and kind and people took the time to read and not start throwing insults.
It was nice to read the replies and hear people's views.

BarbariansMum · 25/07/2019 14:29

Benefits of Brexit #1: Control of our borders except the one bw Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland/rest of the EU

AndSheWas85 · 25/07/2019 14:33

@portiaCastis
I agree its going to be GE.
I think Corbyn would be someone/anyone better
than this shower of liars, failures and narcissists

Cinammoncake · 25/07/2019 14:33

I believe Boris and his team will put an end to the dithering and move things forward to Brexit at the end of October. What happens after that is anyone's guess

Very hard for him to get a new deal because of the backstop problem and the lack of time now available
Hard for him to leave with no deal because parliament probably won't allow it.

It's not deranged to not want to inflict economic harm on the country we live in, not to mention damage to our reputation, jeopardising the good Friday agreement, and lots more.

The80sweregreat · 25/07/2019 14:36

Leavers are not sure how leaving will look because nobody knows. Boris has not said ' it will be like this' because he hasn't the foggiest any more than Joe who lives up the road. His speeches appeal because it's low on actual substance. TM had a better idea but even she had to dress it up a lot and keep a lot back. Hence her more pragmatic approach and a withdrawal agreement that might not have been as damaging!

I am wondering if Boris will go over to Brussels or just wait it out. ?
Someone on the DM comments section suggested that he 'waits for them to come to him' which made me smile. As if!

sionnachbeag · 25/07/2019 14:38

So Boris is promising a renegotiation?

Why is no one mentioning that this is highly unlikely and the EU have said so.

Just saying what he thinks people want to hear and iis getting away with it, again.

BishopBrennansArse · 25/07/2019 14:40

Renegotiation won't happen. The other 26 countries have said so.

Cinammoncake · 25/07/2019 14:40

Just saying what he thinks people want to hear and iis getting away with it, again.

Yes, just spinning it. He has surpassed the sunny uplands and now we are going to be the best country in the world Because he said so.
Make Britain Great Again Wink

BishopBrennansArse · 25/07/2019 14:40

Don't we already have border control? Not being snarky. But we're not in Schengen.

BishopBrennansArse · 25/07/2019 14:41

Nigel Farage, Donald Trump and Boris Johnson all have Steve Bannon backing.
Funny that.

Lweji · 25/07/2019 14:42

But we're not in Schengen

Funnily enough, the solution for the Irish border, IMO, with Brexit, would be for the UK to join Schengen. Grin

BishopBrennansArse · 25/07/2019 14:43

🤣🤣🤣

StoneofDestiny · 25/07/2019 14:43

the Tories voluntarily threw away their majority and are on their 3rd PM in almost as many years. 'Deranged' doesn't do the situation justice

Add, openly admitting the person they consider to be the best of the whole Tory Party is an amoral, racist, foot in the gob imbecile to the mix and correct - deranged isn't a strong enough word.

PortiaCastis · 25/07/2019 14:44

There's a song titled Jokers No Hopers and Rogues how very apt

C'mon all you Jokers No Hopers and Rogues
We're on the road to nowhere let's find out where it goes

Hmm

Lweji · 25/07/2019 14:45

Any genuine exit will do. Trust me.

I trust the result of the several votes in Parliament.

Would you agree with an exit that meant the UK joining Schengen space (because of the Irish border) and becoming an Associated Country?

The80sweregreat · 25/07/2019 14:48

Remainers are no more deranged than leavers who have been on about Europe for forty years. Millions of people don't want this to happen and they seem to be ignored.
No wonder they are upset and won't let it drop. This will rumble on for years still I think.
There are no easy answers.

BishopBrennansArse · 25/07/2019 14:50

I think we need another referendum.
The initial one was extremely simplistic. Just in/out.
We need to know what out actually means to people and get consensus

The80sweregreat · 25/07/2019 14:52

I've not heard anyone suggest another vote lately. I think that fatigue is setting in now.
Plus it will still be leave. I don't think they can be swayed.
