The cheapest and the most expensive property within 5 miles...

Seeing so many threads about properties and the difference in prices reported I get why it can be so difficult for people to imagine the differences between areas.

Would IBU to be curious and ask you to hop on primelocation and see what are the cheapest and the most expensive properties within 5 miles of your home? Ignore shared ownership, retirement only and investment student studios. Obviously you don't have to post links, just say the area so you can keep anonymous.

I will start.
NW big city
The cheapest:
2 bed flat 35k. Fully livable! Just needs decorating. 15 min to city centre.
The most expensive: 😮
8 bed, oh so amazing, grade 2 listed £1,995,000. 25 min to city centre.

London zone 2

Highest almost £30 million for a 7 bed mansion in the centre of town, very historic.

Lowest is a lease for 99 years for a studio flat that you have to dig yourself from the basement below a semi in zone 3. £5k with none of the permissions!!!

£49k will get you a houseboat

£120k ground floor studio flat = used to be an office

Depressing!

I live in a village in Kent. Cheapest property (ignoring the shared ownership / houseboats / park homes
and those for the over 60’s) is a studio flat for £110,000.

East Berkshire.

Cheapest - £120k studio flat
Most expensive - £4.75m a 7 bedroomed country house, 8,500 sq feet, indoor pool.

Actually the most expensive is £11.5m but that is more of a country estate and includes three cottages in the grounds so I'm not sure it counts.

Near Glasgow

Most expensive - £800,000 for a 5 bed new build in a lovely location.

Cheapest - £38,000 for a 1 bed flat in a rural village.

Cheapest (once you get past the £60k single garages!!!) £125k for 1 bed flat

Sussex village:

Cheapest = £140k. Perfectly decent 2
1bed, 1 reception room, 1 bathroom ground floor flat with allocated parking.

Most expensive: £5.5m, 9 bed country estate.

South coast here.
Cheapest is a beach hut on the seafront for £22k.
Most expensive... well about 30 POA properties but first with a price tag is oieo £5million. 6 bedroom detached house. Got a nice pool but in serious need of modernisation.

It is! I have to admit I am rather enjoying this and it's fascinating to see some of the differences within small areas.

Now just to win the lottery... But I would actually have to remember to bet😂

Outskirts of Salford - cheapest two are a 2 bed terrace at auction price of £35k (full refurb needed) or a 2 bed flat (done) in a town no one wants to live in, also £35k. The most expensive is an 8 bed mansion POA, next most expensive is a 6 bed detached for £2 million

Bloody beautiful!!!

Cheapest:
1 bed first floor flat
Lounge with balcony
Allocated parking bay
Livable
Fairly nice, quiet area actually.
£37,950.

7 bedroom, modern, waterside location, outdoor pool, annexe - offers over £4.25 million
Least expensive;
2 bedroom holiday chalet with 10 month pa occupancy - £26k

Highest: 40,000,000 (do I win???)
Entire apartment block of 130 properties

Or single dwelling just shy of 5 million, 9 bed with land nearish a London tube station but Essex

Lowest: 9k- a garage

Or dwelling 62k 25% shared ownership by an Essex tube station

70k - mobile home in so so nick on outskirts of London

Really hard to find the lowest owned outright as so bloated with shared ownership here!

86k Hackney, a houseboat, but no permanent mooring

£125k a one bed flat in forest gate at auction

Most expensive is POA but when it first went on the market it was either 6 or 7 million. 7 bed detached house. It caused a bit if a stir both as it was being built (as a forever home) and when put on the market not long after completion. Been on the market for 1-2 years at least.

Cheapest is £70,000. 1 bed flat in neighbouring town.

20 mins train journey from London.
