The cheapest and the most expensive property within 5 miles...

TheFridgeRaider · 22/07/2019 19:24

Seeing so many threads about properties and the difference in prices reported I get why it can be so difficult for people to imagine the differences between areas.

Would IBU to be curious and ask you to hop on primelocation and see what are the cheapest and the most expensive properties within 5 miles of your home? Ignore shared ownership, retirement only and investment student studios. Obviously you don't have to post links, just say the area so you can keep anonymous.

I will start.
NW big city
The cheapest:
2 bed flat 35k. Fully livable! Just needs decorating. 15 min to city centre.
The most expensive: 😮
8 bed, oh so amazing, grade 2 listed £1,995,000. 25 min to city centre.

PinguForPresident · 23/07/2019 15:19

South East, not far from the coast. Commutable to London.

Cheapest (discounting retirement flats, shared ownership and plots of land): £140k for a 1 bed flat: new development but just about walking distance to town and the station.

Most expensive: 6.75 million for a sprawling 9 bedroom country place with massive gardens, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, stables etc etc

Animum2 · 23/07/2019 15:19

Live in Se londom close to Greenwich and checking online the most expensive I can see if for 7.1 million for a block of 16 flats.

6.8 million for a 4 bed flat near Tower bridge

1 bedroom flat above shop in forest hill for 50000

claracluck71 · 23/07/2019 15:24

On the south coast near Southampton.

Most expensive - £3.75m for 5 bed with a pool and 22 acres on the edge of the New Forest
Least expensive - just shy of £90k for a studio close to station and city centre

I think it's interesting to look at the spread of the values to give an idea of the disparity of wealth in the area - 42 studio flats or one 5 bed house?

ememem84 · 23/07/2019 15:30

Jersey.
