I can't stand coffee, tea or beer. The worst bit is people looking at you like you have three heads when you've just explained for the third time that you really would just prefer a glass of tap water and that you really don't like... (insert bitter brown liquid). I also can't accept squash when out unless I want a thumping headache, insatiable thirst, and indelible sickly after taste for up to 6 hours. The stupid sugar tax has meant I now have to pay a fortune for premium brands of squash because all the Ribena and High-Juice is now contaminated.
I used to like the smell of coffee but now I find it repellent. I don't know if that's since super-pregnancy nose or the rise in coffee pretentions since around the time of my first pregnancy. Saying that, DH had a latte from a machine yesterday and his breath honged afterwards, despite that being quite weak.
The whole language of coffee has become bewildering. Goodness knows what happened to "large white, one sugar", it's all "super hugeissimo frappéd flat arabica mocha with vanilla syrrup" or whatever and God help you if you want to order something "small" in a coffee shop
I'm also intolerant to cows milk, so my non-alcoholic drinking options are usually water or Coca Cola unless I want to take out a mortgage for a small and bitter concentrated glass of orange juice (invariably never the nice fresh stuff)
Olives are lovely. I got the taste in adulthood.
I can understand corriander being "soapy" to some people. I'm suprised that people find it has a strong taste. It's just refreshingly crunchy and watery to me. I have occasionally bought one that had a slightly vinegary tang to it (definitely not a gerkin
) DH doesn't like it and I always thought his reaction was a bit strong to something whose most offensive quality was being a bit wet possibly towards slimy.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of coffee
