To think that you should never marry a gamer

A glut of threads on here recently reference DH being useless/not contributing/ not looking after kids because they are in the xbox. Often they stay up late on the xbox.

One but of advice for those dating would seem to be to steer clear of gamers as your future OH!

Also let's not forget that the game in OPs link has never actually been officially released because no publisher will touch it. Even Steam, a platform that releases any old shite, shut it down quite quickly.

I used to work in equine welfare - believe me, I could go on. Those aren’t the worst things I’ve seen. Not even close. I got to thinking that there were more abusers - whether deliberately so or through ignorance or neglect - than decent people, frankly.

But of course we’d never think it fair to judge all riders or horse owners like that... would we?

I would just find it hard to relate to a ‘gamer’, my teenage DS went through a stage of having a PlayStation (thankfully now over it) & I just couldn’t understand the attraction of whatever it was he was doing, & I’ve never played Candy Crush or anything like that.

I have many hobbies & interests, as does my DH, & no doubt lots of people can’t relate to how we spend our spare time. My DH has just gone out to play golf, doesn’t bother me in the slightest, he’s in the fresh air, meeting friends, getting a little exercise ... but many wives seem to hate their DHs playing golf .

I’m obviously not saying all gamers play this type of game. I was hoping it was a troll and made up to antagonise.

So why post it? How does it prove your point?

It is silly to advise people not to marry a gamer when you have not had the experience of being married to a gamer yourself.
I'd understand if you had a bad experience being married to one.

I thought botw was good but then I played red dead redemption 2. Scenery and graphics blow botw out of the water. And the horses are miles better too. Always been a Nintendo girl...think xbox might actually be tempting me away now lol.

@yellowtailroll I'd rather watch a gaming competition than a bunch of boys kick a football round a field for a lot more money

After what happened last week, I'd say you should definately never marry a "gamer".
