In your opinion. Just interested.

A colleague brushed her hair in the office and I immediately thought 'how rude!' Shock

TeachesOfPeaches · 12/07/2019 12:25

No tights in the office. For shame

Stacking plates in a restaurant when you don't work there

This shows consideration for the staff. If you find it common that's on you.

LaurieMarlow · 12/07/2019 12:37

I don’t think stacking plates is common exactly, but it’s very odd.

And no it doesn’t show consideration, it’s just interfering with how the waiting staff do their job.

Grin in a posh restaurant this is how you draw attention to slack service, in a more basic restaurant it’s called being helpful.

Dippypippy1980 · 12/07/2019 12:41

Having just been on a flight I would add taking your socks and shoes off on a plane 🤢

Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 12/07/2019 12:42

Shoes is fine, socks ShockEnvy

Dippypippy1980 · 12/07/2019 12:57

He he spread his legs and elbows as wide as he could.

Even went to the loo bare footed🤢🤮

70sWitch · 12/07/2019 14:24

Being no better than you ought to be. Grin

Off to read the fruit bowl thread.

I don't have a fruit bowl. Wonder what that makes me.

TeachesOfPeaches · 12/07/2019 14:28

Stacking plates shows lack of breeding darling and also the staff don't appreciate it

I do this, I’ve always considered it a helpful thing to do. I used to be a waitress in my student days and appreciated people who did this, made my life easier.

floraloctopus · 12/07/2019 14:49

Stacking plates in a restaurant is surely helpful? or is a sign that you want the bill

M&S do sandwiches with salad cream as well. Maybe Waitrose and M&S are the new Aldi and Lidl.

Who the fuck wants to be known as having good breeding when it comes with such a shitty attitude.

Friends, family and even little old me have waited on and I can assure you the staff do appreciate it.

Darling.

🤣

Oh yes, I wouldn't be doing it in a top notch restaurant, but a local pub where the staff are rushed off their feet and poorly paid (and who have shown good service) then I will always do it, when its convenient and leave a tip.

TeachesOfPeaches · 12/07/2019 15:08

Why don't you clean the toilet while you're there as well!

floraloctopus · 12/07/2019 15:14

Why don't you clean the toilet while you're there as well!

Would you interrupt your meal at home to go and clean the toilet?

TeachesOfPeaches · 12/07/2019 15:16

After you've used it of course! And take your hotel bedding down to the laundry room and maybe offer to do the washing up after the breakfast buffet. Would be very helpful

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 12/07/2019 15:18

Eurgh

joystir59 · 12/07/2019 15:29

Saying things such as "He kept sending me texes"

DanglyWhoreTassels · 12/07/2019 16:59

Why in the name of all that is kind are we still calling people/traits common?

People are what they are and if they aren't causing harm leave them the fuck alone!

Can we not all be a little bit kinder?

Behaviours can be bad but they don't need a 'class' distinction!

ooooohbetty · 12/07/2019 17:06

I holiday in Benidorm so that makes me common. But because we holiday in the Old Town we think people who stay in the New Town are common. See, even us common people look down our noses at people Smile

Arsparsley · 12/07/2019 17:07

Glottal stops and voice fry.

Gooigi · 12/07/2019 17:37

@arseparsley

So should I just stop using my natural accent in case people like you think I'm 'common', whatever the fuck that even means.

evilharpy · 12/07/2019 17:49

What is voice fry?
