So last Friday (10 days ago) I fell off a children's roundabout at work and got a few cuts.

This one on my foot was cleaned straight away and I've been cleaning it with TCP but it's getting worse, my whole foot feels bruised and like the skin is being stretched tight and hot to touch too. My lower leg aches.

I plan on seeing pharmacist tomorrow but noticed there's some red lines coming from the wound and when touched it's very tender, I've a few chronic health problems, not too worried as temp is 37.4 it's just so painful.

Anyone got any tips? Don't want to consult dr google and can't sleep with the pain. Feeling such a wuss.

Please listen to the doctors on this thread

foreverhanging · 08/07/2019 20:50

Thinking of you op

endofthelinefinally · 08/07/2019 20:50

I am immunosuppressed and it is always the first thing I say when I have to see any hcp.
They always take it very seriously.
You really should go back.

babysharkah · 08/07/2019 20:51

Op that looks seriously infected, I think you need to go back ASAP. Like now. Even if it means waking and taking the kids.

winewolfhowls · 08/07/2019 20:53

Really hope you are being seen by medical professionals. All the doctors I have ever seen have always said better safe than sorry. Never worry about bothering them with any ailment, they are there to help

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 08/07/2019 21:12

Wow wasn't expecting these responses, I've spent the last 2 hours crying with the pain and throbbing and have horrendous nausea. I'm going to go back, I really should have said about the lupus and medication etc - I'm prone to dvts and on anticoagulants (have APS also) and just read the leaflet with the antibiotics and they shouldn't be mixed.

Thank you all so much Thanks

I hope you're on your way now lass.

Sending you a supportive handhold and hoping it's cleared up soonest.

expatinspain · 08/07/2019 21:15

I hope you're ok OP x

coconutpie · 08/07/2019 21:17

Call for an ambulance NOW.

AbsentmindedWoman · 08/07/2019 21:20

You sound really unwell OP, please call an ambulance. I'm sorry, it truly sucks to feel so shitty. But do go.

The sooner you go in the sooner the infection can be brought under control and the sooner you'll feel human again.

TokyoSushi · 08/07/2019 21:24

Oh OP, that looks awful, I'm really worried about you now, please get seen again.

SavageBeauty73 · 08/07/2019 21:24

Go back to A&E now! Seriously.

CottonSock · 08/07/2019 21:32

I hope you are ok. Call 111. You shouldn't be worrying about how to get there.

MidsomerBurgers · 08/07/2019 21:32

I hope you're on your way back to a and e now OP. There's a definite tracking line on your last photo that wasn't there on the previous one.

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 08/07/2019 21:35

Oh blimey OP, I hope you're ok

HairyFloppins · 08/07/2019 21:36

Hope all is ok OP.

PrinceArchie · 08/07/2019 21:39

OP call an ambulance if you haven’t already.

I work in A&E, I’m not clinical but believe me, people call ambulances for a lot less than that.

TheMaddHugger · 08/07/2019 21:50

Ohhh sweetie. I hope you are back there by now. ((((Massive Hugs))))
cant believe they didnt do more at the time. It's looking way worse. that red line travelling up your foot/let is 😨

cricketmum84 · 08/07/2019 21:53

Hope you are back at a&e now. That looks far worse. I can't believe they just stuck a dressing on and sent you on your way!!!

CorBlimeyGovenor · 08/07/2019 21:58

TCP can make injuries worse. Esp if not diluted. I made that mistake once! I think though that you should go to A&E. I am worried that the infection could be starting to spread, and without prompt antibiotics, it could turn into Sepsis. Sepsis can come on incredibly quickly. My husband had a sore throat. Within 48 hrs he was in a coma on a life support machine. If you see the infection tracking up a limb you have to act ASAP. A lady on my road had a small burn to her hand. It started to track, but she was unconcerned, but collapsed hours later and also ended up in intensive care with sepsis. I would urge anyone to act with caution and get checked out asap if any change to an injury or illness. Even if caught early and treated, it can still leave you feeling very unwell. Best not to wait for it to get to that stage. Sorry, not read the whole thread, but please get checked out asap if not done so Already.

SteelRiver · 08/07/2019 21:58

I'm really worrying for you, OP, after just seeing your posts. I hope you're at A&E now, getting appropriate treatment. I had 3 bouts of Cellulitis in my lower leg in swift succession and know how painful it is. I've been left with some unsightly scars, too.

Please keep us updated.

Sneezeandooops · 08/07/2019 21:59

People are always afraid to call an ambulance, just do it noone will tell you off you can see it's worse. They will take the children too just pack a bag for them and you. Sending hugs

ohfourfoxache · 08/07/2019 22:05

Please, ambulance - now

MissB83 · 08/07/2019 22:07

That looks exactly like when I had cellulitis in my leg from a coral wound. It was horribly painful and needed strong abx and I'm not immunosuppressed! I hope you're ok OP and back at the hospital???

StrumpersPlunkett · 08/07/2019 22:07

Oh love I hope you are at the hospital
