To ask advice on this foot wound? (Pic included)

So last Friday (10 days ago) I fell off a children's roundabout at work and got a few cuts.

This one on my foot was cleaned straight away and I've been cleaning it with TCP but it's getting worse, my whole foot feels bruised and like the skin is being stretched tight and hot to touch too. My lower leg aches.

I plan on seeing pharmacist tomorrow but noticed there's some red lines coming from the wound and when touched it's very tender, I've a few chronic health problems, not too worried as temp is 37.4 it's just so painful.

Anyone got any tips? Don't want to consult dr google and can't sleep with the pain. Feeling such a wuss.

Also work in A&E. Definitely get that seen to ASAP. Tracking red lines is a real concern

MrsEricBana · 08/07/2019 08:35

Have you been OP? You def need that looked at. Hope all ok.

Sorry for the slow reply, I've got an emergency drs appt at 10:50 and taken the day off work. DC are at school but can barely walk.
Going to get things ready in case I have to have IVs.

Drawn line round about 3am and it has spread, also feel really woozy/dizzy but could be lack of sleep.

Thank you all so much for the advice, wasn't sure if I was being a hypochondriac

Stressedout10 · 08/07/2019 09:19

Don't wait at home go to the drs now especially if you're feeling woozy incase you pass out

Differentcorner · 08/07/2019 09:26

Do not drive yourself, it sounds as though you are very unwell. Please call 111 now

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 08/07/2019 09:30

Go straight to A&E - that’s where the GP will send you.

MargotsFlounceyBlouse · 08/07/2019 09:33

Glad you're being seen - definitely infected. Tell GP you feel woozy too or as others have said just go to a&e. This time on a Monday it shouldn't be too awful. Sepsis can spread quickly once it gets a hold so you need to take it seriously. Hope you're better soon.

Nousernameforme · 08/07/2019 09:37

Can you get to a&e what about those taxis you were phoning earlier can you get one now.doc is going to send you there anyway

cricketmum84 · 08/07/2019 09:37

Please go straight to a&e rather than waiting to see GP. He will just send you straight there anyway.

GoodBoyGhost · 08/07/2019 09:53

You really do need to go straight to A&E OP

midsummabreak · 08/07/2019 10:08

Hope you are ok Flowers

dontdoxmeeither · 08/07/2019 10:12

Hoping that you went to A&E

Nesssie · 08/07/2019 10:17

Why would you post on here and then completely ignore the 30+ people all telling you (most with experience) to go to hospital?
A GP can't give you IV antibiotics, so that's just a complete waste of their time and yours.

Butterbeeeen · 08/07/2019 10:21

My dp has just had an infection like this. It was left untreated and he developed sepsis and was hours away from death. Please go asap. I know you are worried about you dc but the reality is you could leave them permanently if you don't get iv antibiotics now.

FleurNancy · 08/07/2019 10:24

Sorry to be so blunt but why the hell are you fannying around waiting for a drs appt? Your GP is not going to be able to help you. You need to go to A&E and should have gone as soon as the children were at school.

Likethebattle · 08/07/2019 10:25

The quicker you get treated the less likely you’ll have to stay in hospital.

HairyFloppins · 08/07/2019 10:31

Get well soon OP. That might need IV.

notapizzaeater · 08/07/2019 10:34

Hope doctor has told you off, not one person said gp, they all said hospital

edsheeranpaidmoretaxthanccola · 08/07/2019 10:37

Hope you're being well looked after OP

TantricTwist · 08/07/2019 10:42

Go to A&E right away because yout foot definitely sounds infected and if it isn't treated with antibiotics asap it may then turn into sepsis.

Let social workers etc deal with the DC if need be.

You could actually die from this so rather a bit of inconvenience now than days / weeks in hospital if sepsis takes hold.

TantricTwist · 08/07/2019 10:50

The fact you've got chronic health problems makes it even more vital you go to A&E bypassing your GP completely

If your GP palms you off with oral antibiotics and doesn't suggest you go to A&E you must ignore that advice and take yourself to A&E anyway and get your bloods taken to check for infection etc

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 08/07/2019 11:02

Sorry I know I've been fustrating - I've gone to A&E.
Basically didn't have enough money for a taxi so had to wait for a bus but was embarrassed to write that.

Rang round lots of different people asking for a lift etc to be declined, people are just fed up of there always being a health issue going on and I've just isolated myself but that's a different story.

Thank you all & sorry again, just got waiting to be triaged.

Maitairiki · 08/07/2019 11:05

Forget the doctor - you need A&E!

WeLoveToBoogieOnASaturdayNight · 08/07/2019 11:07

Oh no, the bus? Well, glad you've finally made it there now.
Please keep us updated, OP ...worried about you!
