To ask advice on this foot wound? (Pic included)

So last Friday (10 days ago) I fell off a children's roundabout at work and got a few cuts.

This one on my foot was cleaned straight away and I've been cleaning it with TCP but it's getting worse, my whole foot feels bruised and like the skin is being stretched tight and hot to touch too. My lower leg aches.

I plan on seeing pharmacist tomorrow but noticed there's some red lines coming from the wound and when touched it's very tender, I've a few chronic health problems, not too worried as temp is 37.4 it's just so painful.

Anyone got any tips? Don't want to consult dr google and can't sleep with the pain. Feeling such a wuss.

@Imustbemad00 sorry I meant looked at close up properly in detail and felt it for warmth etc, every other hcp didn't in that respect if that makes sense.

The GP I saw this afternoon actually diagnosed my last bout of sepsis and sent me straight for treatment in hospital so I know that he would have today if he would have thought it so I'm reassured by that, I will with any change of course be straight on it.

Thank you all Thanks

You don't have to prove yourself, OP. Just take it easy, rest up and if you take a turn for the worse just call an ambulance ☕️💐

AbsentmindedWoman · 09/07/2019 22:01

Good to hear someone is in your corner now, OP! Hope you start to feel better.

picklemepopcorn · 09/07/2019 22:05

Poor you! What a crappy time you've had. I'm glad the nurse is properly attentive, and you've the reassurance of being seen regularly now. Hopefully, the new ABs will leave you feeling batter.

KitKat1985 · 09/07/2019 22:14

I'm glad you have managed to get some medical attention today OP. How is your foot looking now? x

positivity123 · 09/07/2019 22:19

Sending you lots of love OP. You sound very poorly and I hope you get better soon. X

EleanorReally · 09/07/2019 22:32

Glad to hear you have daily appointments

BlueSkiesLies · 09/07/2019 22:37

Thank for someone has actually looked at it properly!

Hope you turn a corner now the antibiotics are changed

BlueSkiesLies · 09/07/2019 22:37

*thank god

CorBlimeyGovenor · 09/07/2019 22:49

That sounds reassuring OP. I feel much better now that you've been properly assessed. And you know the symptoms and of Sepsis to look out for any deterioration. Confusingly though, my husband's diarrhea stopped which we mistook as a sign of him improving. In reality he was dehydrated. Just make sure that you're drinking plenty of fluids and peeing regularly. You can also press down on a fingernail and the colour should return to it almost immediately. If it doesn't, that can be a sign of worsening symptoms/sepsis. You could do this simple test for reassurance. Hoping that tomorrow is a better day and that you are getting help with your children. Also, there is no need to justify yourself to anyone. Drs will also tell you that, in order for them to help you, you have to speak out when you feel unwell, because only you know how you feel. You are an expert in yourself and have to learn to trust your gut instincts and don't ignore any niggles at the back of your mind. You've done really well in persisting with getting treated. Well done!

Spinmynipplenuts · 09/07/2019 22:49

Hope the new antibiotics help and you start feeling better soon. Glad someone will be looking at it daily too. It’ll be reassuring for you, if nothing else x

Just want to say as well don’t mind what any one thinks and don’t be thinking “oh they must think I’m a hypochondriac”. You obviously have ongoing conditions that need to be treated so feck anyone that makes you feel like that. That’s their problem not yours.

I think as well you need to speak up more about the meds you’re on and your condition when you’re face to face with doctors like that. When they’re tired or overworked you are your own best advocate. (Sorry if that sounds like a lecture)

Been following. So sorry that you are going through this, OP.
Glad that the nurse is taking you seriously and monitoring you.
If anything changes for you in terms of temp/how ill you feel, as challenging as it must be, I think you should go back. Better to "waste their time" a dozen times than leave sepsis untreated.
Looking forward to read that the tide has turned and you are on the mend!

TantricTwist · 09/07/2019 22:59

The GP nurse seems to be on top of things for you, so stick to seeing her daily

She has your notes and history so will make sure you are looked after by the sounds of it. She will keep an eye on you deteriorating and I'm sure you can call the surgery if in the meantime there are significant changes and talk to her.

TantricTwist · 09/07/2019 23:00

Your wound could improve, then get worse, then improve etc etc so keep an eye on it.

TantricTwist · 09/07/2019 23:01

and please keep us updated because we worry about you Flowers

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 09/07/2019 23:10

Yes of course. I will update :) I'm hoping tomorrow will start to see an improvement.

MrsMozartMkII · 09/07/2019 23:36

Hope you get some sleep lass.

EAIOU · 10/07/2019 00:31

Really glad to see your update that you've been seen properly and hoping that the new antibiotics kick in!

midsummabreak · 10/07/2019 03:48

Hope you can sleep now and all is well

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 10/07/2019 09:27

That's really great that you saw the same GP. And that the nurse will see you regularly.
What a relief!

ThatCurlyGirl · 10/07/2019 10:40

You poor love! As if you needed extra hate on top of dealing with the situation.

I genuinely haven't been so over invested in another person's body part since smellbow 😂

I'm so glad you're getting treatment now - sending positive thoughts and really hope it starts clearing up soon.
