To ask advice on this foot wound? (Pic included)

So last Friday (10 days ago) I fell off a children's roundabout at work and got a few cuts.

This one on my foot was cleaned straight away and I've been cleaning it with TCP but it's getting worse, my whole foot feels bruised and like the skin is being stretched tight and hot to touch too. My lower leg aches.

I plan on seeing pharmacist tomorrow but noticed there's some red lines coming from the wound and when touched it's very tender, I've a few chronic health problems, not too worried as temp is 37.4 it's just so painful.

Anyone got any tips? Don't want to consult dr google and can't sleep with the pain. Feeling such a wuss.

Wishing you all the best op, what an awful situation.
You should never have been sent away twice.

endofthelinefinally · 09/07/2019 20:53

I am guessing you are on warfarin OP? Not many people are these days, so if you are, you must have a complex history.
Clarythromycin is dangerous with warfarin.
You must have a contact number for your AC nurse or clinic. Ring it now. They will help you.
Infection is dangerous for people on warfarin.
The National Patient Safety Agency and NICE guidelines stipulate that patients on warfarin must have access to appropriate advice through their AC service.
This could be your best route to emergency assessment and treatment.

Bloody hell op! I hope you have gone back and they have listened to you!

Get off the methotrexate, that won’t be helping plus the antibiotics will struggle to work whilst your on it.

Where is the next closest hospital to you? Anyway you could get there?

FoxSquadKitten · 09/07/2019 21:07

Oh God I hope OP is ok, we've not heard from her since 2 o'clock this afternoon

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 09/07/2019 21:08

I've not had a chance to read replies but wanted to update - I feel like shit so haven't been on my phone much.

So presented back at A&E and told when I was triaged (same nurse as yesterday AM) and told to go to GP.

GP had no emergency appts when I rang so went there and showed the receptionist my foot who managed to find an appointment. Obs were ok and antibiotics changed again as dr thinks that is causing the d&v. He said he would get nurse to look at it.

Nurse looked at it - first time someone has actually looked at my foot and cleaned it! She was appalled, she has drawn a line around the redness and has booked me in to come back daily for it to be changed and monitored.

Tonight now my minds at ease but temp is creeping up but still " normal" (37.5) if I continue to vomit etc then I'm going to ring 111 and I'm drained I've not cried so much in my life and I'd like to think I've a good pain threshold generally.

I'm so sorry I've not read through I will in a bit when I feel a bit more normal.

She did say there wasn't much signal at the hospital so hopefully that's where she is, being well looked after at last.

Luckingfovely · 09/07/2019 21:08

Also really worried about the poor OP, hopefully no update means she's having some intensive treatment to get her better.

Luckingfovely · 09/07/2019 21:09

Ah so glad you're doing okay(ish!) Keep in at them - at least somebody is showing some concern now x

Hope your OK op! I'm glad your having daily monitoring now!
Thank god for the nurse at your gp surgery, somebody finally taking you seriously!
Hugs op! Recover soon! Flowers

Pleased it's been looked at and cleaned properly.

You know your own body, don't hesitate to call an ambulance if you feel the need to.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 09/07/2019 21:18

Sorry to pick up on the bad replies but I hope this is proof enough for those that are doubting the authenticity- I'm happy to PM proof of my medication etc with my information on etc to anyone that needs it.
Sorry if I sound silly I'm highly emotional and worry about opinions when I'm feeling "normal"

I really do appreciate all the replies and love and advice shown I wasn't expecting this to have the response that it has, I posted out of desperation - I'm a long time user but the last year went back to lurking.

I know I'm sound over dramatic so I'll stop now.

Did you get it checked out? You need to know it's not sepsis.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 09/07/2019 21:19

Hoping this is enough..

I just wanted to add that I hope you get sorted soon.

FelixFelicis6 · 09/07/2019 21:28

Good that that nurse is on your side. I’m so sorry you’ve had such appalling care so far. Please please keep pushing and pestering them.

Throckmorton · 09/07/2019 21:28

Hugs OP - I'm so glad someone actually looked at your foot! Don't hesitate to call 111 if anything changes, but hopefully any changes will be for the better!

Don't worry about anyone's opinions at all - just get yourself some rest. You've coped really well with an absolute nightmare. Flowers

chocolatespiders · 09/07/2019 21:29

So glad the nurse is going to keep an eye on it for you.

Hope you feel better soon

MollyHuaCha · 09/07/2019 21:29

Poor OP. Please don't feel you have to prove you are real to this den of vipers.

Put your energies into looking after yourself. Hope you feel a lot better soon. BrewCake

Imustbemad00 · 09/07/2019 21:35

I’m doubting the truth behind this but I find it bizarre that nobody at a&e had looked at your foot? What was saying to them? The first thing they would do is look surely.

Imustbemad00 · 09/07/2019 21:36

Just to clarify, I completely believe you. I’ve had cellulitis before and it’s awful. Hope you get it sorted.

MrsMozartMkII · 09/07/2019 21:36

Oh sweetie. You really are going through it.

I'm assuming your GP has mapped out all the different drugs and issues and determined that this is the right course of action.

I really hope you call at the very least 111 if things get worse.

Gentle hugs.

Yes sod the people on this thread who are giving you a hard time. You fit need to explain yourself at all.

That looks bloody awful as well as painful. I am really glad you are getting the care you need now and hopefully the change of antibiotics will have you on the mend in no time.

I know you know this but watch out for any changes, if at all during the night you feel that you've gone downhill go back to the hospital ( via ambulance if need be ). Best wishes to you and I hope you are out of pain and feeling better sooThanks
