I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

I get annoyed about outdoor shoes on the bedding, but not clothes. It takes all sorts to make the world go round, eh?!

Rtruth · 07/07/2019 17:31

First world problems!!!!

What happens if you want a lie down? Do you always take your “outdoor” clothes off?
Who has outdoor clothes?

dexter6000 · 07/07/2019 17:33

So funny!

TiaraBus · 07/07/2019 17:33

OCD much?
Do you also have bus pants? ( like Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory).
Oh, I love this forum and what people see as real problems. Keeps me entertained while I lie in bed with a broken ankle and foot in my outdoor airboot.
I honestly have thought of getting an indoor and an outdoor boot so I don't lie in bed with my outdoor boot but the issue is kind of moot right now as I can't get outdoors.

Putthekettleonplease · 07/07/2019 17:36

I’m with you OP. That would do my brain in.

jessebuni · 07/07/2019 17:38

I love clean bed feeling that’s nothing better than clean sheets at night. However I would come and flip on my bed in my clothes during the day if I had the free time to do so. Not in the bed but on it. We just wear clothes around the house most of the time. We only put pjs on to lounge around in before bed if we’re either ill (or had a very bad day) or it’s winter and we want to be all warm and snuggly.

SolitudeAtAltitude · 07/07/2019 17:43

Outdoor clothes?

What?

Amylicious · 07/07/2019 17:44

I’m startled at the number of such ‘couldn’t be bothered’ comments. It’s a reasonable ask. When you get home from wherever just change your clothes then jump on the bed day in and out if you want just don’t spread the outdoor dust indoors. SimpalsSmile

Amylicious · 07/07/2019 17:46

Seriously?

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:46

"TiaraBus

OCD much?"
No, OCD is an illness. I am lucky not to suffer from it. Don't be ridiculous.

For the fifty millionth time
She was in the bed not on it
I do not "have a nap", they are for toddlers
This last one is important
I have admitted multiple times that IABU

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:47

No Amy, not seriously. Does that address your worry?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:48

Actually just seen you posted before in agreement with me. I am confused. Normal state for me.

@LadyBahBahBah Your comment tickled me

Dailyjunglegrind · 07/07/2019 17:52

I am still getting my head around indoor/ outdoor clothes business. remind yourself never to run off and join a naturalist community.. I’m not sure you would cope.

Tbh I adore the freshness of clean air dried sheets as much as the next person.. but to be so scandalous about your poor DD lying on them after being outdoors is just a tad worrisome.

My worst enemy are the jolly wood pigeons targeting my clean fresh sheets on the line before they even get a chance to adorn the bed.. or worse still.... what caused my anxiety about the said pigeons, were a pair of super king, brand new lily white 1000 thread count ‘virgin’ sheets being bombed by said pigeon.. that brought me a new level of outrage, hence brought a nerf gun on amazon to defend my sheets from those bastards birds lol

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:53

Do you struggle with fairly basic concepts usually?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:53

In them
She was lying on the sheet

I would swap my husband for your daughter op - his favourite thing is getting out of the shower wrapping himself in a towel and getting under the duvet with wet legs and feet etc and a soggy towel- eeeurgh! When I catch him I go mad but he’s getting wise to my wrath and doesn’t do it when I’m around. But I still know because he leaves the towel on the headboard. Confused

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:54

No thanks dexter, despite her clean bedding atrocities I'm really quite fond of her

OP posts:
Honeyroar · 07/07/2019 17:55

Each to their own, I say. I had a friend that changed every bed every day because she didn't want dirty sheets.

I'd happily sit on clean sheets in dry and relatively clean outdoor clothes and don't think it would contaminate the clean feel of new sheets. I wouldn't sit on them in wet, muddy, sweaty or smelly clothes (clothes I mucked out my horses in, for example) and I wouldn't consider sheets newly clean and fresh if my cat or dog had been in the bed or even if I'd napped in them.

madjakel · 07/07/2019 17:55

FFS................. poor child. outdoor clothes get a bloody grip!!

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 17:56

Grip got seven pages back
Why does no one ever see or rrepond to my updates? So frustrating

OP posts:
James2002 · 07/07/2019 17:56

Totally agree with you op, l wouldn't like it at all, my son (older than your daughter) goes to collage sits on floor in corridors and all over the place then comes and lays in my bed! No, just no!! But l am abit ocd

Itssosunny · 07/07/2019 18:01

Does no one else enjoy the clean bed feeling?

Personally, I don't like sitting on my bedding in the outdoor clothes due to hygiene. I tell children off if they do it. It's unhygienic.

Itssosunny · 07/07/2019 18:04

But l am abit ocd

Nothing to do with OCD. It's basic hygiene.

MmeBoulaye · 07/07/2019 18:05

It never occurred to me until a hospital stay after giving birth to my DS 12 years ago that sitting on a bed in normal day-to-day clothes was wrong! My DH got a ticking off from a midwife when he sat on the end of my bed! I’ve never allowed it since as I now think “aaargh! bacteria!”.
