I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

My definition of outdoor clothes are coats, waterproof overtrousers and outdoor sports stuff e.g. in my case jodhpurs, gilets etc that may get mucky having been outdoors!
Jeans, tops, t shirts etc are just ‘clothes’

Blimey this is all very complicated 😂

Socksontheradiator · 06/07/2019 18:57

Don't fret OP they are just winding you up. I hope you have a better week Flowers

MrsDimmond · 06/07/2019 18:58

Stealth I have reported starzig's outrageous and offensive post

WindsweptEgret · 06/07/2019 18:59

Indoor trainers are plimsoles? My DC is in secondary so they just have trainers, and football or rugby boots. The trainers are meant to be non marking for when they are worn inside, but they are worn outside too when they do outside games other than football and rugby.

riotlady · 06/07/2019 18:59

@StealthPolarBear thank you for the kind and not at all patronising explanation :p I am familiar with kids wearing plimsolls inside at school but the way you phrased it made it sound like something you do in your house!

MysweetAudrina · 06/07/2019 19:00

One time I had sex in our bed. We contaminated the sheets, covers and pillows. I still feel ick when I think of it.

Winenotttea · 06/07/2019 19:01

Stealth, ignore them! They are just winding you up. In the main I agree with you, it’s everyone else that are just weird, I mean, who lies in bed in day clothes, that’s just odd 😂

Crikey, I’ve now added another clothing category, day clothes include clothes worn at night but not to bed 😂

Whatafackinliberty · 06/07/2019 19:01

Mumsnet is fucking bonkers at times.

huggybear · 06/07/2019 19:03

We have the same rule and also call it "outside clothes"

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 19:03

You're welcome riotlady. At my dc school they wear trainers rather than plimsolls

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 19:04

Believe me huggy it's like youre talking about nuclear physics. Difficult concepts.

pickingdaisies · 06/07/2019 19:07

Bloody hell, starzig! Pack it in.

pickingdaisies · 06/07/2019 19:09

I wash and replace my duvet cover on the same day. It was expensive, it's my favourite, and it feels soooo much nicer than my other ones.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 19:11

And it saves folding the clean one which I hate so so much

OP posts:
starzig · 06/07/2019 19:23

I just can't get over how people think that is OK !!!!!

HappilyHarridan · 06/07/2019 19:30

What, comparing someone with strong views on bed linen cleanliness with someone who is a violent abuser? Yeah I don’t think anyone thinks that’s ok.

CyberBroccoli · 06/07/2019 19:31

MN seems to have lost its sense of humour today!

YANBU @StealthPolarBear

Your own clean sheets are to be dived into in a fuzz of pure, well earned, bliss.

Next time you have clean sheets, lock DD up

CyberBroccoli · 06/07/2019 19:31

@starzig you're embarrassing yourself.

HappilyHarridan · 06/07/2019 19:32

Ps omg views which I entirely agree with. Because she is right. Hence Stealths Law.

HappilyHarridan · 06/07/2019 19:33

Strong. Not omg.

TheStakeIsNotThePower · 06/07/2019 19:37

Oh my goodness, I was chatting on messenger with stealth earlier and said she'd been slaughtered in this thread but now she's been accused of being abusive!

Her dd hangs out with mine, they are in and out of each other's houses. She is a joy to have around, enthusiastic, polite and generally fab. She is sporty, gets stuck in, gets messy and so on. Her mother is allowed to have basic rules around the home. I've known stealth for upwards of 12 years, she is not cruel. Quite the opposite.

placemats · 06/07/2019 19:40

But sometimes I'm very naughty and hang the washing out in my pj's.

I may even pull a weed up whilst I'm at it.

Then, oh then, I go back inside. And I sit on my sofa.

Dear god, shoot me now.

I'm imagining SPB/OP has plastic covers on her sofa

Thump · 06/07/2019 19:42

Basic logical rules are fine. You can't lie down on a bed? Not so much.

placemats · 06/07/2019 19:43

Why is clean bed luxury though?

Can someone please explain this.

GottaGetUp · 06/07/2019 19:46

In a bed. In.

I don’t necessarily agree it’s wrong, but I can definitely see the difference between lying on a bed and getting into bed with your clothes on.
