I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

I 100% agree that outdoor clothes do not belong on the bed. Even if it didn’t have clean sheets on. This is something I have had to train my partner to respect as he used to happily come in and loll on a bed. It freaks me right out and I don’t care about the sofa. The bed is for clean bodies and pjs only. Op, you are NOT being unreasonable.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 17:19

Don't be silly l8 today is chimney sweeping day

The responses on this thread would be completely the other way round on a weekday!!!

BenWillbondsPants · 06/07/2019 17:23

Erm, I'm not sure really. I love the clean bed feeling - doesn't everybody?? I've never heard anyone say 'oh I love to get into a rancid bed, such a great feeling ...'

But I can't imagine getting my knickers in a twist at 'outdoor' clothes unless they are actually dirty and if they are dirty I'd have changed out of them anyway.

ArgyMargy · 06/07/2019 17:24

Haven't read the full thread. But all you need to do is launder the bed linen again. Surely you do this daily so it will only take a few minutes. This is what I have learned from all those threads you referred to earlier. HTH.

3luckystars · 06/07/2019 17:26

But maybe she really enjoyed it in her clothes and didn't ruin it, just did it differently to you. It's her bed.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 17:27

I burned those sheets and have rushed out to buy new ones which I am washing in filtered mountain dew.

I’m with you, OP... There’s nothing better than having a nice fresh ‘virgin’ bed to look forward to Grin
yes I know I need to get out more

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 17:32

And I don't mean the fizzy drink from the 90s

OP posts:
motherheroic · 06/07/2019 17:34

I'm here to agree with OP. Can't stand outdoor clothes on my bed, they just smell 'raw'. If you have a dog you know the smell.

JoyceDivision · 06/07/2019 17:38

Crisp fresh bedding is bliss, especially on weekend so good night sleep with a lie in,it is just not cricket to de-fresh and de-crisp some one's fresh new bedding
I hear you op! Grin

LauderSyme · 06/07/2019 17:38

@plattercake On a weekday everybody would be piling on to demand to know why OP's daughter isn't at school instead of lounging fully clothed in bed!

Benjispruce · 06/07/2019 17:41

Outdoor clothes? you mean she hasn't been through the decontamination unit? Shock

Are you for real?

Benjispruce · 06/07/2019 17:43

My cat is lying on my bed in his outdoor fur the bastard 😱

Grin Grin Grin

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 17:43

Clothes shes been outside in. And yes I'm for real although, once again, I have conceded to being unreasonable. And apologised. And sent my weakened ailing daughter into school for the play she's in with a smile on her face and a bag full of sneaky snacks for the interval.

MiniMum97 · 06/07/2019 17:44

I often sleep in my bed in the clothes I've been outside in. Obviously I wouldn't if caked in mud but otherwise why not. I often get into. Ed in my very top and leggings instead of pyjamas. Why make more clothes dirty when the ones you are in are perfectly comfortable enough to sleep in. Doesn't affect the feel of the bed! In any way! And yes I do like the feel of freshly changed sheets.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 17:44

I do love the thought of a cat in a little furry onesie. Maybe I could get one with little cat ears for added cuteness.
nb I do not own a cat and will not be doing this

My mind is seriously boggled by the concept of not getting into bed in clothes but I have seen Stealth give all kinds of good advice on MN and she always seems like a very friendly sort so Stealth if you're still reading hope whatever is stressing you out gets a bit easier. 💐
I often sit in bed mumsnetting in my clothes

Mabellavender · 06/07/2019 17:47

I wear daytime clothes in bed if I get I during the day, which is more often than most people as I have babies that nap in there and I work from home so can get in and out of bed when I want Grin

Saying that the sheets get changed 2-3 times a week ( by dh! Not me!) and I don’t own pjs because I sleep naked. So in the day it’s clothes or nothing Smile

MrsCBY · 06/07/2019 17:48

YANBU, Stealth. It’s one thing lying on top of a made bed in outdoor clothes, and another thing lying directly on the sheet in them. Especially when it’s clean sheet day.

Surprised at how many people don’t see it this way. And I’m really not very house proud.

You sound like the soul of restraint to me.

Harveywallplanner · 06/07/2019 17:49

@StealthPolarBear, I totally understand where you are. I love getting into my nice clean sheets, I call it a bedgasm Grin

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 17:54

Bedgasm... And people say I'm the weird one :o

shinynewapple · 06/07/2019 17:58

Lucky it's only your DD and not bloody dog with his dirty paws and moulting fur Angry

reytmardy · 06/07/2019 18:01

Enjoy time together with your child and don't worry about crazy things like this.
