To call my dog Blanche?

I posted on here a few days ago regarding getting a Boxer or a Doberman. I went to see the Doberman puppies yesterday and fell in love. DH is coming back with me today and we’re likely to be reserving one.

Dog will be ready to come home in 3 weeks.

I don’t like traditional dog names and when we were looking at getting a boxer I was going to call her Blanche.

WIBU to keep this name for a Dobie?? It doesn’t seem to fit as well! But I can’t think of anything else!

OP I didn’t mean ‘I don’t care what you call your dog’ - I mean ‘why would anyone care whether it was called Blanche or Tallulah?’ I don’t think the dog will ever be applying for a job so as long as the name isn’t Adolf or something I can’t see why you shouldn’t name it whatever you want !

Go for it! I used to have a rescue dog called Debbie. Got quite a few heads turning. But as with you, it was the only name I could think about at the time.

I would love to have two dogs to call them something like Ant and Dec or Gilbert and George or Thelma and Louise or Daphne and Niles. Chris Packham’s two standard poodles are called Itchy and Scratchy.

The name isn’t definite yet ... still open to ideas! I like Thelma!

how about Doris or Delilah the Doberman ?

(Hulking blokes are often nicknamed "Tiny"
So if you really like "Blanche" you could follow the same principle )

blanche is a very common pug name

Betty...great with Derek, and easy for a dog to respond to with the short 'tt' sound.

Like it but dogs usually respond better to two syllable names.

If I had a dog I would name it Honk.
