To call my dog Blanche?

I posted on here a few days ago regarding getting a Boxer or a Doberman. I went to see the Doberman puppies yesterday and fell in love. DH is coming back with me today and we’re likely to be reserving one.

Dog will be ready to come home in 3 weeks.

I don’t like traditional dog names and when we were looking at getting a boxer I was going to call her Blanche.

WIBU to keep this name for a Dobie?? It doesn’t seem to fit as well! But I can’t think of anything else!

Brown would be brun / brune (Bruno)? Or black would be noir / noire (not sure you can make a name out of that)?

Blanche is a female name so why not Zaeem? I like Human names for Dogs .

I'm vaguely obsessed with the name Doris-I'm a huge Doris Day fan which may explain it

I love animals with human names . My Aunt has a dog called Gordon, her previous dog was Jake. She talks about them as though they’re humans and I love it. ‘I went to the shops with Gordon yesterday’, that sort of thing. If you don’t know it’s her dog, you’d think it were her son. I find it v.amusing.

I think Grace would be a lovely name for a Doberman , I’m not keen on Blanche . If you want a B name Bianca would also suit the breed .

We had two white chickens called blanche and pearl. You could have Doris or Doreen the Dobie, or how about a german name? Hildegard or Hilda for short.

Old fashioned human names for dogs are great. Ours is called Roddy.

I think this is a weird post. It’s a dog. Call it honey, marmalade, Jonathan or blanche. Who cares?
