Chub rub

stopitandtidyupp · 04/07/2019 20:19

Has anyone got any remedies for this?

Have you tried the bandallettes or snags chub rub shorts.

My friend says they are rubbish and a pair of cycling shorts will have the same affect.

I think that would be hot sweaty and a thrush breeding farm. AIBU?

Any other ideas?

Big Bloomer short anti chaff in nude. Wear under thing clothes like white linen and they don't show at all. I wore a pair when it was mega hot the other week for a wedding - 11am right through to midnight. Comfy till the end.

Likethebattle · 05/07/2019 19:59

I found lanacane rubbish too. I applied it on holiday and by the time I got to the outside of the hotel the pain was back. It lasted about 20 steps. This is the same for bodyglide-crap, talc-crap, anti-perspirabt-crap.

JustBeenNosey · 05/07/2019 20:05

Cycle shorts from primark - £2..

Works wonders🙌🏼

Solina · 05/07/2019 20:05

Body glide did nothing for me, just made my legs feel sticky and made it worse. So now I just use spray deodorant which works really well with just one application for the whole day if I don't do too much walking (so a work day) and otherwise I would just add more when it feels like it is wearing off. Have not yet had the chub rub this summer!

Cherrysoup · 05/07/2019 22:37

@PancakeAndKeith How odd that the pink version is £3 cheaper! I’d love to know how many blokes have cottoned on to that!😂

DerelictWreck · 14/07/2019 16:30

I know this thread is a week old no, but I've bought some Snag rub shorts A do you wear them with knickers or without?

For what it's worth I used to swear by bandelettes but you have to replace them too often. The elastic goes and the lace becomes itchy and corse in the skin - creating more problems than it solves.

PenCreed · 14/07/2019 16:50

With, as if they were tights.

LoudBatPerson · 14/07/2019 17:04

I have to say I have bought myself a few pairs of "sport" style men's boxes, the medium and long ones. I find them much more breathable than any of the women's anti rub shorts I have tried. Also cheaper and seem to last longer.

I think them being the sports boxers is the key though as they have breathable mesh parts.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 14/07/2019 18:25

I've got the Sloggi long knickers but when I ordered some new ones I think they were either labelled wrong or Sloggi have changed the sizing as I could barely get them on.

I've been looking at the Snag shorts - do you wear them instead of knickers or as well as. I can't decide whether to go for those or the Big Bloomer Company ones

Neckercheiftheif · 14/07/2019 18:43

BODY GLIDE!!!!!!
it’s the stuff of dreams!

EC22 · 14/07/2019 18:47

I wear nude shorts nothing else works. I wore the bandalettes to s gig and ended up with massive welts in my thighs, fortunately amazon refunded them as they were dear.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 14/07/2019 18:47

I tried Body Glide but I didn't like it and I needed to keep reapplying it

myself2020 · 14/07/2019 19:10

h&m cotton cycling shorts. i had chub rub when i was a size 6, so not much to do with weight...

maddiemookins16mum · 14/07/2019 19:12

The Asda liquid talc works wonders under big boobs too.

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 14/07/2019 19:21

Just bought my first pair of Snag shorts and I love them

They aren't tight or restricting and they are light and smooth to touch.

I wore mine with and without knickers and either way was comfortable.

I'm a size 20, tall and thanks to some medication I sweat profusely, I found that I was less sweaty down below wearing the shorts.

I was very skeptical at first, but I'll be buying a few more pairs for holiday to Spain

medisnet · 15/07/2019 13:18

I buy donatellas anti chafing shorts, more lightweight, and they have a shorter version like their tights which works better for me as I'm big a size 28, but not very tall. My sister bought me some bandelettes, i like those as well.

WeeCharlotte · 16/07/2019 00:53

Pair of scissors - chop tights to the length you want. If they're decent ones, they won't roll up. Might not work for everyone, but gets my fat carcass through the summer.

MamaOomMowWow · 16/07/2019 20:52

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread so far. I got myself both some Snag Tights and some Big Bloomers and they are both brilliant!

namestar · 16/07/2019 20:59

Just back from Orlando and wore the M&S £12 anti-chafe shorts. They were bloody amazing! Wore them every night under skirts and dresses and they dry very quickly after a hand wash.
My single best holiday investment- meant I coped with the humidity in -relative- comfort.

Aria999 · 16/07/2019 22:08

Trousers!

Watching with interest though.

scaryteacher · 16/07/2019 23:57

My Big Bloomer parcel was delivered this week and they are great. No issues here now.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/07/2019 17:20

My Snag shorts arrived today and I don't like them, they are far too long. I can pull them up but I'm worried they'll roll down and be noticeable. I'm hoping I'll be able to send back the unworn pair.

Has anyone tried Jockey slip shorts?

thenorthernluce · 19/07/2019 17:29

Bandalettes for very hot days, cotton/Lycra leggings cut to shorts for less oppressive days. Saves my poor inner thighs over and over again!

thenorthernluce · 19/07/2019 17:30

And I’m a size 12, so not exactly humongous, but I get chub rub at any size. Dem thighs be thick! (And I love them for it)

LadyGodivasCat · 19/07/2019 17:33

I wear men’s fitted boxer-type trunks. I like them because the legs are longer than any women’s shorts type underwear I’ve found and they’re often cheaper.
