Chub rub

stopitandtidyupp · 04/07/2019 20:19

Has anyone got any remedies for this?

Have you tried the bandallettes or snags chub rub shorts.

My friend says they are rubbish and a pair of cycling shorts will have the same affect.

I think that would be hot sweaty and a thrush breeding farm. AIBU?

Any other ideas?

I use antiperspirant (I prefer the spray. Find the roll on a bit sticky) I then put on lanacane anti chafing gel. It dries to a silicone finish.

If I put it on without antiperspirant then I just sweat it off.

I really dislike the feel of the various chamois creams I tried (including udderly buttery). I got too hot in the shorts that were available a few years ago before I cottoned on to this combo. I wore dresses all last summer without issue.

I may try the m+s cooling shorts too

Powerbunting · 05/07/2019 08:21

Of course in m+s I'm a 14-16 and the sizes are 12-14 or 16-18......

VapeVamp12 · 05/07/2019 08:42

Big boomer company

100%

I got a black and a white pair of their underwear short type things and they have changed my life! I can wear skirts and dresses in summer with bare legs, it's a dream!

VapeVamp12 · 05/07/2019 08:42

Big bloomer even

Roomarmoset · 05/07/2019 10:23

I have just tried the liquid talc from Asda, it's an absolute dream!

digdug · 05/07/2019 11:28

@Powerbunting Size down with the M&S ones.

Swolleneye · 05/07/2019 12:23

Another one for talc

permanentlyshattered1 · 05/07/2019 14:09

Lanacane anti-chafing gel for £7 has worked well for me this year. I got it from Superdrug but you can also get it in Boots.

Body glide
Body glide
Body glide

Just in case you didn’t hear me

BODY GLIDE

Nothing else ever worked.
Bandalettes rolled up, short got too hot but body glide worked a treat.

PancakeAndKeith · 05/07/2019 17:00

Here is a link.

And there is a ‘for her’ version too for reasons I don’t understand.
Unusually the pink tax doesn’t apply.

Howvery · 05/07/2019 17:18

Get yourself a cheap make up primer. Works wonders.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 05/07/2019 17:35

Lanacane works really well. It feels so silky I quite like feeling my legs rubbing together when i have it on...that sounds a bit weird but I'm sure you know what I mean Confused

Blindandfrozen · 05/07/2019 18:04

Can I just say it’s refreshing to read a thread about chub rub where no dickhead has popped up to say ‘why don’t you just lose weight?’ Must be the first time ever!

I endorse body glide btw!

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/07/2019 18:17

Should I size down for bigbloomers? Currrently a smallish 14 but losing rather than gaining so should I get the 12-16 or 8-12?

SlipperyWhenWatery · 05/07/2019 18:17

I bought some of the Primark £2 cotton cycling shorts at the weekend and have worn them as pants, under skirts and dresses.

I would love to try the Snag chub rub pant things, I have their tights which are amazing. But the Primark shorts are doing OK.

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/07/2019 18:17

Oh I’m super short too.... like 5’2

ThisIsNotAIBUPeople · 05/07/2019 18:22

Body glide did nothing for me, am intrigued by liquid talc.

PenCreed · 05/07/2019 18:32

Bandalettes brought me out in blisters, but Snag’s shorts just got me through a holiday in 36C heat. I also had cut off leggings, but the Snag ones were a bit cooler. Not as cool as thinner thighs would be, but there isn’t much I easily can do for that (exercise and diet don’t shift those!).

digdug · 05/07/2019 18:32

I also used to use Lanacane; it lasted a few minutes before the rubbing resumed Confused

nothingwittyhere · 05/07/2019 19:29

@lauriefairycake I think this is the link for the M&S ones

Ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople · 05/07/2019 19:48

Asda liquid talc! baby aisle 89p!

HufflepuffHarpy · 05/07/2019 19:52

no talcs or creams work for me, and i still get chub rub through tights - even the snag ones.

I have a range of cycling shorts styles - a couple from simply be which are cheaper and do roll up a bit but Big Bloomers Company are awesome, highly recommend them! I can be comfy all day in them. And i dont find them too hot, on the contrary as i dont have sweat running down my legs its much cooler!!

HufflepuffHarpy · 05/07/2019 19:54

blind i still had chub rub when i was a healthy BMI and my DD who is 25th centile for weight at age 6 gets it already - some of us are just born with thighs that touch no matter what our weight so anyone saying losing weight is the answer would be wrong!!
