Chub rub

stopitandtidyupp · 04/07/2019 20:19

Has anyone got any remedies for this?

Have you tried the bandallettes or snags chub rub shorts.

My friend says they are rubbish and a pair of cycling shorts will have the same affect.

I think that would be hot sweaty and a thrush breeding farm. AIBU?

Any other ideas?

Second the m&s anti chafe shorts. I wore them in 36 degrees on holiday last month and they are so cool and thin you don't feel like you are wearing them. No panty line either. I found the sloggi ones a bit too thick and tight for me. I need to order another pair from m&s actually as I noticed they are back in stock online.

CharlieCoCo · 04/07/2019 22:05

Thin denier tights cut up as shorts. Thin enough to air and smooth enough to glide your thighs passed each other

Neome · 04/07/2019 22:14

Where do you get these snag shorts? sound brilliant but computer only finding US supplier

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 04/07/2019 22:14

Udderly Smooth chamois cream

Figmentofimagination · 04/07/2019 22:17

I wear cotton cycling shorts. Usually nude or black coloured depending on what I'm wearing. Wore some nude ones under a white skirt today, went for a 2 mile walk on my lunch break and was absolutely fine. No rubbing, no overheating.

I definitely can't cope with a close fitting layer of shorts/pants. I get very hot and sweaty in the nether regions, I would probably just melt away if I added another tight layer. I haven't had success with any of the creams or talcs, again I don't know if this is because I sweat so much. Its horrible really but just the way I am made, I have large thighs and am a size 14 so as much as I would love to wear skirts and dresses, I tend wear cropped or floaty trousers and shorts.

scaryteacher · 04/07/2019 22:24

Lanacane gel is fantastic and prevents chub rub for me. Boots sell it.

digdug · 04/07/2019 22:25

Omg the M&S anti-chafe shorts are actually FUCKING AMAZING. Seriously. So soft, comfy, flattering waistband and they do not budge. One of my best ever buys.

NannyRed · 04/07/2019 22:26

Get yourself some www.thebigbloomerscompany.co.uk/ big bloomers. They are soft, comfortable and reasonably priced.

Oysterbabe · 04/07/2019 22:28

Bodyglide works perfectly and you don't have the heat of another layer.

QueenEnid · 04/07/2019 22:30

A layer of sudocrem also works a treat!!

Likethebattle · 04/07/2019 22:31

All the talc, creams, deodorants and lotions wore off after 20 steps. I wear bandalettes (I actually got mine sent from the us, takes about a week) just make sure you measure correctly. No rubbing even after a full day at work and lets your bits breathe. I also use the big bloomer anti chafe scants and they are amazing. I always thought I was weird, I was 10 stone 5’9” with a bmi of 23 and my legs rubbed. All those women you see with dresses on probably have their own secret underneath.

BlueberriesAndCream · 04/07/2019 22:39

snag shorts are really good.

I found the Sloggi long leg ones rubbed and the fabric made a noise as I walked.
The simply be/Evans ones weren't tight enough, and rode up.

The talcs etc mostly wore off, but the Muller runners' lube did help quite a bit. Deodorant didn't do anything near enough.

Snag tights are here: snagtights.com/ and scroll down for the shorts. UK supplier from what I can tell, prices in pounds and delivery was within a few days by royal mail.

clucky3 · 04/07/2019 22:42

I've tried EVERYTHING. Udderly smooth chamois cream is the best

llamallamallamallamachameleon · 04/07/2019 23:05

Have tried all the creams and deodorants and roll on products and none of them worked for me. My game changer was bandalettes. But the real ones not the cheaper copies (which often don't have top and bottom sticky strips). Also measure to make sure you're fitting them right. Nice and cool too as wear with regular pants. Haven't tried snag shorts but have heard good things.

Fairypiggy · 04/07/2019 23:14

A couple of people have mentioned the Asda liquid talc. Where is it available? Has been out of stock at my 2 local branches for ages!

Heratnumber7 · 05/07/2019 00:36

I wear DH's boxers Grin

stopitandtidyupp · 05/07/2019 07:01

Please stop calling it chub rub.
However, bandalettes work really well to prevent discomfort from the totally normal meeting of thighs.

Mine is chub unfortunately. I store a lot of fat there. The snag tights are called that. Doesn't bother me.

Thanks all will try some of these.

Snags can be bought via Facebook. I love their tights and bought three pairs of the shorts for my upcoming Greek holiday.

stucknoue · 05/07/2019 07:26

Cheap cotton cycling shorts, they are £3 on eBay

Scratchyfluffface · 05/07/2019 07:41

I wear sloggy long line pants (they go halfway down your thigh)

cyclingwith3 · 05/07/2019 07:50

Jumping on this thread as I’ve had it for the first time this year (no coincidence I’ve gained weight...). It’s horrible, I was walking like John Wayne on the way home to avoid it!

LaurieFairyCake · 05/07/2019 07:54

I can't find any anti chafe shorts on the M and S site - never mind cooling ones - could you do a link?

nicecuppaforme · 05/07/2019 07:55

Sloggi long briefs. Just wear them as pants, they have a gusset like normal underwear and aren't sweaty at all.

Rezie · 05/07/2019 07:59

I have cheap bike shorts and some cheap cotton shorts that I wear under dresses.
