to be a little perturbed to have discovered that my next door neighbour is a Creationist?

DH overheard our next door neighbour having a row with his wife in the back garden yesterday. He was insisting - belligerently - that the Earth is 6000 years old, Stephen Hawking was an idiot and the moon landing was faked. His wife was cackling and saying things like "but it's basic GCSE physics!".

For the avoidance of dripfeed: he's a dour, ill-mannered git who bellows at his kids all weekend and lets his dog shit on our drive.

I hadn't read the thread until today, and having read it I agree with others that quite a lot of the thread is absolutely grim. My first post was meant as lighthearted but I wouldn't have posted it if I had read what had been said on the thread before it, hence asking for it to be deleted. Apologies if it offended anyone.

Completely unrelated to that, and off topic, I had mentioned that I was reading with my dc "Knowledge Encyclopedia Space!: The Universe as You've Never Seen it Before" and that it is a great book for young kids - I had referred to any stars dying whereas should've been massive stars.
