To ask about your OH’s hobby...

So many threads have husbands / partners off doing their unidentified hobby. AIBU to ask what are these mysterious pursuits that our menfolk do?

Mine goes fishing...

My hobbies are mumsnet, playing tennis, going for walks and drinking (not to excess anymore) with my friends.

Riding motorbikes, restoring and riding vintage sidecar. Takes up pretty much all the time he's not at work.

He plays cricket in the summer and hockey in the winter. Amounts to one training session per week (Tuesday evening) and usually one match per week on Saturdays, cricket goes on a lot longer than hockey. Matches could be at home or away so that makes a difference too.

We don’t have DC together (I have my own 5yo DD), but I think if we had a baby he would maybe give the cricket up and just keep hockey for half the year, quicker matches.

...lycra, basically. But that’s fine as I’m the same.

He's recently taken up the piano, but he also plays video games and Dungeons and Dragons.

Mine doesn't have time to have any.

Gaming and football can’t stand the gaming as it involves constant shouting at the screen and frantic mouse clicking and DH can’t control how long he spends in it

pleased mine is content with fishing

Oh and Lego, he loves building Lego with the grandchildren, but gets too competitive and spends ages looking on line for instructions to see what he can build from the squillians of tiny bricks and fiddly bits that have been amassed over the years.

My DH's hobby hasn't been mentioned yet! Must be one of the actual ones that are outing!

Another LARPer here. When not actually LARPing, he makes costumes and props for LARPing. And he games on PC or Xbox.

I'm rubbish at hobbies. Not because he stops me doing anything but I can't seem to find anything I'm either good at or enjoy for extended periods. I'm not very crafty or artistic and I think I would like a creative hobby so that's a disappointment to me!

The gym. 3-4 hours a day at the bloody gym! With running and football on top.

Dealbreaker. When do you see him?!

Yacht Sailing...the kind that takes him away for weekends and whole weeks.
When the children were small I resented it but now they are adults I tell him to go and enjoy. I get the house to myself...it's bliss.

He used to play football semi pro and continued in teams as he got older. He had a back injury and subsequent operation which put him out of the game. I've tried to get him into something else but he's floundering at the moment and I think this is having an effect on his mental health, he needs something to focus on.

My stbx goes fishing for other women on a pretty regular basis. It's his only hobby. That and lots of porn.

Cricket, fishing, shooting, golf, gardening, bee keeping.
I rarely see him in the summer.
