So many threads have husbands / partners off doing their unidentified hobby. AIBU to ask what are these mysterious pursuits that our menfolk do?

Mine goes fishing...

Warhammer
Tabletop gaming in general (he goes out one evening a week to play RPGs with a group of his friends)
Star Wars cosplay
Video gaming
Historical re-enactment (me too but we don't get to do much these days. Only one event for us this year)

My DH doesn’t have any hobbies, I wish he’d get some. He does play computer games I suppose. So do it, though.

My two main hobbies also must be outing as they haven’t been mentioned yet. But it’s not about me!

Jealous of the pp who have a DH who likes cooking and diy! My DHs is tennis, so see a lot more of him in winter!

BogstandardBelle · 21/06/2019 15:46

DH is a teacher so not a lot of time for hobbies. When he can he does

Home brew beer
Sourdough bread making
Camping / walking / outdoorsy trips with our two DS

Fishing, fish-keeping, sometimes running, cycling and swimming. Oh and playing in a brass band. I am not at all a hobby widow though. He spends limited time on them really, except the fish-keeping, which is in the house anyway.

Mine are running (slowly), knitting (also slowly) and learning Spanish (partly for work, mostly for pleasure). I have much more time for my hobbies than he does, because he works much more hours than I do.

Beekeeping (only started this year - he's like a new father!)

My ex was gaming and chasing women, both took up rather ALOT of his time 😂😂😂

CharminglyGawky · 21/06/2019 16:54

Gaming, talking about gaming. He keeps trying to get me into gaming, it isn't gonna work

MinnieMountain · 21/06/2019 17:19

Point proven randomsaberuse! I was at university with him.

SinkGirl · 22/06/2019 14:09

I had my eyelid cut open with a fencing sword (doing stage combat, not fencing, so no face guard). Those things are vicious 😂

someoneontheinterweb · 22/06/2019 14:13

Gaming, of all types really. Video games, board games, table top games, card games. I share pretty much all of these, although I’ve yet to get into Warhammer. He does a lot of miniature painting too, and I guess that’s the main hobby I don’t have any part in.

I didn’t have many hobbies at all (reading, watching TV series and that was it) before we met, so I think it’s great that he’s got me involved in all of his gaming hobbies.

Backwoodsgirl · 22/06/2019 14:21

Hunting, shooting, fishing, gardening, car maintenance.

In all reality that translates to the outside chores while drinking beer.
