So many threads have husbands / partners off doing their unidentified hobby. AIBU to ask what are these mysterious pursuits that our menfolk do?

Mine goes fishing...

Kit car

Dollywilde · 20/06/2019 20:49

Aston Villa, PlayStation, driving range, fishing when he can.

If you asked him mine he’d probably say baths and wine (generally what I do when he’s doing the above!)

TeenTimesTwo · 20/06/2019 20:49

Radio controlled planes not drones for the past 50 years.
We used to go around the country and abroad for competitions pre DCs.

CrackersDontMatter · 20/06/2019 20:50

Rugby and golf - playing.
Cricket - watching.
The rugby takes up the most time. He also teaches it to younger lads.

MothralovesGojira · 20/06/2019 20:54

Model railway - has a stash worth thousands & has commandeered half of the conservatory for his new layout......

Cricket - plays in a very crap team consisting of other middle aged men and I get to spend time every week getting the grass stains out of his whites which are like 25 years old and past their best. Some of the stains are older than our DC's.....

Family tree research - he often comes to bed at 2am having spent 6 hours tracing a relative only to find that it's not his relative at all.....

mnahmnah · 20/06/2019 20:54

Cricket. Every Saturday April-September. Leaves the house around 10.30. Returns 8.00 or 9.00 Angry

Billythecat · 20/06/2019 20:55

Playing hockey. I haven't got a clue about it and am happy to keep it that way! I have started enjoying football since we met however, so now we watch it together without me complaining Smile

Nanna50 · 20/06/2019 20:56

Some great hobbies on here. My DH hobby does extend to lying on the sofa watching fishing on his iPad. Saying Nanna look at this fish, watch this catch and shouting at Robson Green on the telly Hmm

Rallying.

tenlittlecygnets · 20/06/2019 20:56

Mine goes fishing. I wish he’d go more often. Our garage is full of bait.

HisonaruHussy · 20/06/2019 20:57

Playing rugby and anything fitness related

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 20/06/2019 20:57

Darts! He plays one night a week for a team and enters tournaments etc as and when they come up. He also practices for a bit everyday but not to a strict schedule or anything. He's quite dedicated (the hobby came before I did!) But never, ever puts it before our family. I like supporting him and he says that I've made him a better player with that support 😊

ilovepixie · 20/06/2019 20:58

Nothing! Wish he would it would get him out from under my feet!!

Sipperskipper · 20/06/2019 20:59

Pottering in the garden and building stuff out of old shit.

He’s actually really good at it and has managed to make DD a little treehouse out of mainly salvaged wood from neighbours etc.

I also love pottering in the garden, so it works out well for us!

JQBased · 20/06/2019 21:00

Meh most of this thread is about middle class past times, don't really get that on a Londom estate...My OH spends most of his time on the estate trying to stop thieves stealing ours and neighbours stuff and gangs terrorising the elderly and younger kids. At one time it got so bad in terms of violence between gangs the police would just turn up and seal of entry in to the estate until TSG or whoever they are now would turn up. I guess you could say my OH is a sort of batman as a hobby...he does go to the gym and is a Krav Maga trainer as well though 😁

Knitclubchatter · 20/06/2019 21:00

bee keeping (over 30 hives this season).

Triskaidekaphilia · 20/06/2019 21:02

We both game (together and apart) though he puts more hours in than I do. We also go to the gym but reluctantly Grin

RomanyQueen · 20/06/2019 21:03

None, but I have plenty Grin He's not a hobby person, nor does he go to pubs or out with mates. I hit the jackpot, when he isn't working he's at home with me/and or family.

ninecoronas · 20/06/2019 21:04

GnomeDePlume · 20/06/2019 21:07

Allotmenting (shared hobby)
Gym
Beer drinking

sheepysheep · 20/06/2019 21:09

Farming...... He would argue that it’s his job but I call it a hobby as it doesn’t actually make any money.... !!
Dawn til dusk every day, often works well into the night, no holidays, few away days, gets separation anxiety if we are away more than half a day, always filthy, frequently smelly! On the plus side he’s always here, it’s flexible and it’s a fantastic environment for the kids to grow up in.

JennyBlueWren · 20/06/2019 21:09

Cycling, Warhammer and computer games. (Tends to focus on one at a time)

Sirzy · 20/06/2019 21:10

Running and watching rugby. Hobbies we both enjoy both together and apart
