Help me - sick in hotel **Thread contains references to upsetting content - Title edited by MNHQ**

Not sure what exactly I want from this other than maybe distraction.

I’m in a central London hotel for 2 nights for major work meetings, DC are with a babysitter, she’s great but young.

I’ve started being ill as soon as I got here, I’ve been sick and crippling stomach pains. I’m basically trying to sleep in a hot bath to sooth them. Fairly sure next door think I’m having a good time from all the groaning but honestly feel like I’m giving birth it’s agony Sad

I have no water, or painkillers and can’t leave the room to get any which is upsetting me. It’s a basic hotel so no room service to order from.

I am having to keep the bin near to be sick in and this is really really really upsetting me because last year I was raped and as part of the prelude to that I was forced to gag/vomit in a bin. And it’s just playing on my mind constantly now.

I’m worried about work. I’m worried about the DCs having whatever this is, the babysitter not coping and me being stuck 2hrs away.

And I REALLY need water and pain relief!

Sorry for the general rant.

I'm glad you're feeling better but it does sound a lot like gall stones, where was the pain? Upper right quadrant by any chance?

Qsandmore · 19/06/2019 16:37

It’s kicked back in again now, my stomach is huge compared to normal I’m sure! Pain is higher rather than lower and going into my back.

Haven’t been sick again just feel it. FML poor people on the train tomorrow but I have to get home. Maybe I should get a facemask!

Sounds like an intolerance to something. I get a massive stomach and pain into my back when I eat non gluten free pizza, pasta, bread etc. Hope you got some tablets etc? If you're in SE London and can't get out let me know and I'll drop some to you.

BrillyPribble · 19/06/2019 16:45

Sounds very like gallstones to me too, my DHs symptoms were very like this.

Totur · 19/06/2019 17:06

Also sounds like pancreatitis. I'd be going to A&E tbh.

Totur · 19/06/2019 17:09

Is the pain on your left side? TBH it could be anything from gallstones, to an ulcer to pancreatitis, to a chest infection etc.
You really should be seen and have bloods taken.

Totur · 19/06/2019 17:10

Which part of London are you in?

Rachelle11 · 19/06/2019 17:10

You need to go to the hospital. This does not sound like a flu.

whatsleep · 19/06/2019 17:13

Sounds like you’re having a pretty rough time ☹️ Maybe you should get yourself checked over by a medic (a&e or walk in centre).

Totur · 19/06/2019 17:13

If you're central/city side - the Royal London in Whitechapel are really fast. I was seen within 30 minutes of arriving last time I was there. It's a nice clean hospital and not terribly busy (10 times better than my local one). I'm sure other people can give recommendations for other hospitals depending on which end of London you're in.

gamerchick · 19/06/2019 17:15

I'm another one to say gallstones. Worst pain ever experienced. So much vomiting on top.

You really should try and see a doctor OP.

poppiesinafield · 19/06/2019 17:23

Get thee to a doctor! It could be all sorts - kidney stones, gallstones, a bowel obstruction... Sudden onset acute pain, bloating and vomiting is not to be ignored, fyi I work on a surgical ward where we deal with this type of stuff.

DarlingNikita · 19/06/2019 17:33

It sounds awful, OP! Has your colleague arrived yet? How about phoning the NHS for advice and to see if there's anything you can ask your colleague to pick up for you?

Isatis · 19/06/2019 17:38

Can you get a taxi to take you to the nearest A&E?

alligatorsmile · 19/06/2019 17:43

Crikey, dial 111 straight away. Get proper advice, and, if warranted, they'll get an ambulance to you or an urgent appointment at a centre nearby

spiderlight · 19/06/2019 17:43

Please go and get seen OP! :(

wheresmymojo · 19/06/2019 17:45

I would also call 111 just to be on the safe side.

...and I know it's not really what the post was about but you obviously had a traumatic time last year, have you spoken to anyone about it? Thanks

KitKat1985 · 19/06/2019 17:47

I think you need to speak to 111 OP. I hope you get better quickly. x

sage46 · 19/06/2019 17:49

Sounds like how I felt when I had appendicitis.
I would get medical advice/ help asap.

whatthehelldowecare · 19/06/2019 17:56

Hugs, OP

Chembabe · 19/06/2019 18:03

Please OP get yourself on the phone to 111 ASAP. Right now the only thing you need to do is think about yourself and your safety. It's worth it to have someone with proper medical knowledge to talk it over with - not to be "brave" - you're not going to do yourself any favours if you have a serious problem and you are alone in a hotel room. They will give you good advice if you give them honest answers to their questions. That's what they are there for!

neurostar · 19/06/2019 18:05

So sorry to hear this is happening! I had gallstones when I was 19 and this sounds very similar to what I experienced. I live in east London so please send me a message if I can help you with anything! Happy to arrange supplies or getting you to a walk-in / A&E to get checked out

TheGlaikitRambler · 19/06/2019 18:11

This is exactly how I was with appendicitis!

ineedtogotobedanyway · 19/06/2019 18:14

OP please get seen tonight

steff13 · 19/06/2019 18:17

Ffs! So we can’t see the word now?

Apparently not. Hmm
