Triangle or square

If you are making a sandwich with bread rather than a roll, do you tend to cut it in half triangular or square?
I tend to cut it into triangles, my DH cuts it square.
So after just finishing a sandwich i made ( triangle ) it just set me wondering about other people's preferences.
So you lovely lot, triangle or square?

I call them oblongs 😂, and very rarely cut them into traingles

Happyspud · 10/06/2019 09:50

Squares/rectangles. Because they have to go in a square box. Triangles would be an arse with the other bits that need to fit too.

HypatiaCade · 10/06/2019 09:50

Square, then wrap up in a rectangle. Fits into DS's lunchbox better that way.

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 09:52

I never thought about lunchboxes tbf Blush

triangles, there's less crust.

DoneLikeAKipper · 10/06/2019 09:53

Triangles taste better, it’s a scientific fact*. I cut sandwiches into rectangular shapes for those I don’t like.

*probably.

MrFlibblesEyes · 10/06/2019 09:53

Triangles!

AshQ · 10/06/2019 09:54

Triangles

SavoyCabbage · 10/06/2019 09:54

Rectangles because triangles remind me of garage sandwiches.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 10/06/2019 09:54

Another vote for triangles

BeeFarseer · 10/06/2019 09:54

Triangles, they just taste better.

Ijustdontcare · 10/06/2019 10:00

I'm a heathen as I don't cut my sandwiches!

BikeRunSki · 10/06/2019 10:03

triangles, there's less crust.

How? You are not removing any from the edges of the bread.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 10/06/2019 10:04

I don’t like triangles: those pointy bits are annoying and stuff falls out of them.

Isatis · 10/06/2019 10:13

triangles, there's less crust.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

HolesinTheSoles · 10/06/2019 10:14

Triangles. I remember having this discussion with some friends we all preferred it the opposite to the way our parents made our sandwiches as kids.

sackrifice · 10/06/2019 10:15

How? You are not removing any from the edges of the bread.

The crust is in a straight line, rather than being on two sides of the square thus. So it feels like you get more sandwich per quarter.

Yabbers · 10/06/2019 10:21

Triangles taste better, it’s a scientific fact. I cut sandwiches into rectangular shapes for those I don’t like.

I have this debate with OH. Having a hypotenuse of uncrusted bread is far better.

Jessbow · 10/06/2019 10:27

Triangles
if you are eating on the go, a triangle is easier to hold without squishing out the contents

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 10:28

My OH always cuts the crusts off his bread when he makes a sandwich for himself @Yabbers.
I don't understand that. I like crusts.

Triangles taste better. But I cut into rectangles for my lunchbox.

I cut toast diagonally too - I was accused (not in a fun haha way) of being 'posh' at work once because of it... Hmm

ElizaPancakes · 10/06/2019 10:32

It depends what’s in my sandwich.

Bacon or sardine and tomato paste is always squares.

Most other things I do triangles.

But I always cut into four.

I always have to have squares though to fit in my lunchbox

BesselVanDerKolk · 10/06/2019 10:35

I've just realised I cut DS' into rectangles and mine into triangles. I'd never noticed before!

LucyFox · 10/06/2019 10:41

2 Rectangles - I don’t like the point bits on triangles as the filling rarely seems to stretch to the ends or falls out easily!
Posh sandwiches are cut into 4 triangles & cheese on toast is always cut into 4 squares

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 10:43

Sardines belong in the cat, not in a sandwich @ElizaPancakes Smile
