Triangle or square

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 09:46

If you are making a sandwich with bread rather than a roll, do you tend to cut it in half triangular or square?
I tend to cut it into triangles, my DH cuts it square.
So after just finishing a sandwich i made ( triangle ) it just set me wondering about other people's preferences.
So you lovely lot, triangle or square?

@ElizaPancakes nope I love it as well

1CarefulLadyOwner · 10/06/2019 14:12

Triangles with the crusts cut off.

MrsTommyBanks · 10/06/2019 14:18

Triangles.

Lllot5 · 10/06/2019 14:20

I find you can crisps in a rectangle easier than a triangle.

Eliza9919 · 10/06/2019 14:24

@KnickyKnackyNooNoo Yes, if I have small triangles I eat the crust of each on first and then the inside bit. I don't eat all the crusts of all triangles and then go back to the middles. That would be wrong.

PeachMoon · 10/06/2019 14:27

Another vote for triangles taste better!

FrappeLatte · 10/06/2019 14:31

DH is weird and cuts them sort of off-centre diagonally... so sort-of-square-but-not-really.

I’m normal and do square Smile

SerenDippitty · 10/06/2019 14:59

Triangles look more appetising IMO.

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 15:46

Especially when served with a side, such as a bit of salad and maybe a few crisps @SerenDippitty

FrappeLatte I started doing that with my toast at work, after the aforementioned 'posh' incident.

It just looked like I cut them any old how, but I couldn't bring myself to cut it into real rectangles.

Perhaps he's been exposed to the same total twats people I used to work with? Grin

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 18:41

Toast must be cut into triangles, otherwise you end up wearing the topping as a moustache.

Oblongs... well sort of oblongs as I buy the more rounded batch type loaves that don't lend themselves to being quartered.

I definitely don't have whole-sandwich-holding-hands. Not unless I want to tip half the contents out. I do have disproportionately small hands even for a small person though.

GreenTulips · 10/06/2019 19:00

Ham sandwich - triangles
Marmalade sandwich - into fingers
Egg sandwich - squares
Anything else rectangles

What’s wrong with you people?

Imnotbent · 10/06/2019 19:24

I do one cut just very slightly off the diagonal which gives two triangles but no pointy bit for the filling to fall out of. I also spread butter and fillings from the edges so no dry edges and the middle just seems to fill up itself.

Minesril · 10/06/2019 19:25

I have a dinosaur cutter. Nothing but the best for my PFB.

VenusStarr · 10/06/2019 19:46

Triangles, they taste better :)

cookiemonster3 · 10/06/2019 19:48

Triangles. It tastes better that way lol.

BlackPrism · 10/06/2019 20:40

Rectangle as it holds the filling more stable

CreakingKnees · 10/06/2019 21:09

Marmalade sandwich - into fingers

And you ask what is wrong with you people? @GreenTulips Grin

OP posts:
GimmeBread · 10/06/2019 21:10

Savoury - triangles
Sweet - rectangles
Never fours
And they always go in the bag flat, not piled on top of each other
And please tell me that everyone matches up their crusts? My DH does his top to toe which pisses. me. off.

GimmeBread · 10/06/2019 21:11

Fucking hell @youngestisapsycho. You heathen 🤨

ShitArmBadTattoo · 10/06/2019 21:25

If any of you cut your toast like #3 in this picture you are to report yourselves to the police immediately.

dudsville · 10/06/2019 21:33

I doubt cut sandwiches, or slices of toast for that matter. Why all the fuss?

maimainomai · 10/06/2019 21:34

definitely don't have whole-sandwich-holding-hands. Not unless I want to tip half the contents out. I do have disproportionately small hands even for a small person though.

My gloves are size s. It's all about your grabbing technique. You just need to open wide and take big bites. (also depends on the size of your sandwich).

I'm trying to attach a Pic to illustrate my point but it somehow isn't working....

outofnothing · 10/06/2019 21:49

So am I the only one who cuts their sandwich or toast into three evenly sized fingers. Easy to eat and you don't get filling around your mouth. It looks neat too! Tell me I'm not alone.....
