To put up and shut up with the transphobia on here?

I am fully supportive of the LGBTQ community and don't feel it is my position to question or undermine those who believe they were born in the wrong body.

And yet i see literally hundreds of intolerant posts on here and say nothing. Probably because I'm worried about being shouted down.

This is part of the problem isn't it? I should speak up.

Does anybody else feel like this or is it just me?

So LimeKiwi do you believe that transwomen are women or what?

Ringdonna · 08/06/2019 20:59

I wouldn’t worry about it , feminists are such a small percentage of the population they have no influence. While they discuss this in their echo chamber the individual trans folks and supportive organisations get stuff done and further their cause.

Outofinspiration · 08/06/2019 21:00

I said it's not just down to what's between your legs, there's something "more".
If I could define it more I would.

Men gave never wrung their hands about the "more". They have always known who the women are. Funny that eh?

FermatsTheorem · 08/06/2019 21:00

To channel the Princess Bride: "Essentialism. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means..."

Recognising that biology is what it is... that's just science. No assumptions are made on that basis of how men and women ought to behave or ought to be treated.

Claiming people who feel like women are women because they have some sort of inner womanliness, or because they are living like a woman, or whatever... which then transpires, whenever you attempt the nailing-jelly-to-the-wall activity of trying to get people to articulate what they actually mean by the vague word salad waffle, always to come down to sex stereotypes like long hair, being submissive, being nurturing, or an absence of socially constructed traits associated with toxic masculinity...

Someone probably is being essentialist (in the good old Aristotelian sense of believing in inner essences which make you one kind of thing rather than another), but it certainly isn't gender critical women.

TakeBathsNotDrugs · 08/06/2019 21:01

You couldn't and wouldn't say you utterly reject the idea that somebody could love somebody of the same sex as them.

Plenty of trans activists say this though. If you choose who you want to fuck based on their biological sex then you are transphobic.

Sex is a biolocal reality and means something. I think gay people should be able to express their preferences and say they like biological males as partners without being called transphobic and being told the vagina is a male organ if the identity says so.

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 21:02

Women are humans of the sex that bear young limekiwi. Whether they personally can or want to. There is nothing 'more'

SmileEachDay · 08/06/2019 21:02

Lime

It’s gametes. That’s what it is. The DrBeetles thread I posted earlier is helpful if you’re struggling?

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 21:03

Men have never wrung their hands about the more
Maybe not, I wouldn't know but there obviously is something more the amount of transpeople there are.
They'll feel the same. They won't all do it just for shits and giggles.

IvanaPee · 08/06/2019 21:03

I wouldn’t worry about it , feminists are such a small percentage of the population they have no influence. While they discuss this in their echo chamber the individual trans folks and supportive organisations get stuff done and further their cause.

So if a feminist calls someone a raging thunder cunt, does that person hear it or is it lost in the echo chamber? 🤔

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 21:04

I said it's not just down to what's between your legs, there's something "more".
If I could define it more I would.

Come on!!! You're trying to redefine 'woman' and shame women into accepting male people as women and you can't even define what makes a male person a woman! Try harder. How can you possibly hold the position you do without knowing how to define a woman?

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 21:04

There is nothing more

There you go then.
Circular argument, never ending. Till someone else comes along singing "define womannnn" and it all starts up again.

So, if feminists are a tiny minority with no influence, how are they the oppressors?

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 21:06

I wouldn’t worry about it , feminists are such a small percentage of the population they have no influence

Feminists are a small percentage, true. But if you think the general population believes that TWAW then you're deluded.

SmileEachDay · 08/06/2019 21:07

I’ve defined it, and provided a thread full of biology to prove it.

Lime the emperor really is naked.

KittensinaBlender · 08/06/2019 21:07

You won't see it if you don't post with a different opinion to the majority.

If your arguments are sound and clearly stated then it is of no consequence if a million people disagree. If your arguments are thin and poorly constructed then expect to be taken to task. Shrug.

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 21:08

Limekiwi, it was you that said that a woman can't be a transwoman because she's not transitioning from anything what is a transwoman transitioning from?

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 21:10

If your arguments are thin and poorly constructed expect to be taken to task
I agree, I said I did. You seem to be wilfully missing what I actually said though - it's the personal attack pile on you usually get for a different opinion.
As I said you don't see it if you don't post with a different view.
I never used to see it either but I did the second I went against the majority.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 08/06/2019 21:12

Smile each day
You are absolutely right.
LimeKiwi as you believe that a trans woman is actually a woman, then what are they transitioning from? You believe trans women have always been women so transitioning is not necessary, because if they were women to start with why is transition needed. I'd love to see your answer to this question . Yet again I'm not expecting an answer. Words matter, just for once will you please explain your reasoning.

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 21:12

People who believe TWAW start from the conclusion and try very hard to retrofit their logical arguments to explain why but they always fall down...

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 21:13

A biological woman can't be a transwoman, no.
Which is what you were asking.
Me - no, a biological woman isn't a transwoman.
They are a biological woman.

ghostyslovesheets · 08/06/2019 21:13

I wouldn’t worry about it , feminists are such a small percentage of the population they have no influence

Oh look - a somebody supporting trans ideology celebrating what they perceive as the lack of influence of women fighting for women's rights - shocker

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 21:14

No, you said that women are already women, they have nothing to transition from. Ergo transwomen are not women until they transition. No?
